Conversions replace a character's Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack with a different set of attacks. Converted attacks cannot be overridden by Elemental Infusions.
Conversions are not to be confused with Elemental Infusions, as the latter does not replace characters' attacks, and instead only changes the damage type of existing Normal/Charged/Plunging Attacks.
Converted attacks can range from being completely different from the default attacks (e.g., Tartaglia's Elemental Skill, Cyno's Elemental Burst) to being visually similar (e.g., Alhaitham's Chisel-Light Mirrors, Aloy's Elemental Skill). However, even if converted attacks are visually similar, it is possible to tell them apart from regular Elemental Infusions using Elemental Sight, as characters affected by a conversion will not have their weapon highlighted in the element's corresponding color.
