Dive to the Future! is the twelfth and final episode of Season 3 of the Free! anime and the thirty-seventh episode of the overall series. It aired on September 26, 2018.

Synopsis[]

The All-Japan Invitational hosts swimmers hope to qualify for global competition. Kaede Kinjo appears in person for the first time, breaking tournament records in both his 50m and 100m freestyle heats. Natsuya Kirishima and Ikuya Kirishima race one another and find peace. Rin Matsuoka qualifies in his 100m butterfly heat, but Haruka Nanase loses his 200m freestyle heat. Afterwards, Rin, Haruka, and Makoto Tachibana share personal goals in a private moment, Haruka shouting that he will take on the world. A post-credits scene, which takes place at the All-Japan invitational the following day, reveals that Haruka is poised to qualify for global competition.
