The Iwatobi Junior High School Swim Club (岩鳶中学水泳部 Iwatobi Chuugaku Suiei-bu) is featured in two forms of media under the Free! series umbrella. It first appears in the light novel High☆Speed！2 written by Kouji Ohji. The novel was later animated in 2015 as a stand-alone movie entitled High☆Speed！the movie －Free! Starting Days－.
The story of the swim club focuses on the team comprised of Haruka Nanase, Makoto Tachibana, Asahi Shiina and Ikuya Kirishima who are grademates at Iwatobi Junior High School. All are reluctantly drafted into the swim club by Natsuya Kirishima, the captain of the team and older brother of Ikuya. Each swimmer faces difficulties as they develop their technique and grow as individuals, but with the help of co-captain and club manager, Nao Serizawa, they come to improve their individual strokes and better understand themselves.
