Baselard in Final Fantasy XI.

Baselard (バゼラード, Bazerādo?) is a recurring weapon in the Final Fantasy series. It is commonly a low-ranked Dagger.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy III[]

While not appearing physically or having any statistics inside the data, there is a text string of Baselard suggesting that at one point during development that this weapon was planned to appear in the 3D remake as a dagger.

Final Fantasy XI[]

Baselard is a dagger that provides 8 damage and 186 delay. It deals 2.58 damage per second and accumulates 51 TP per hit. It can be equipped by level 18 Warrior, Black Mage, Red Mage, Thief, Paladin, Bard, Ninja, Scholar, Geomancer.

It can be bought for 4,309 - 4,979 gil from Ashene in Southern San d'Oria (K-7). It can also be bought for 80 Sparks of Eminence from Isakoth in Bastok Markets (E-11), Rolandienne in Southern San d'Oria (G-10), Fhelm Jobeizat in Windurst Woods (J-10), and Eternal Flame in Western Adoulin (H-11).

Final Fantasy XIV[]

The Baselard was a weapon for Gladiator Gladiators. In patch 2.3, it had its model changed and was renamed to the Steel Broadsword as part of a mass replacement of dagger-like Gladiator's Arm Gladiator's Arms to accomodate the introduction of the dagger-wielding Rogue Rogues and Ninja Ninjas, new disciplines introduced in patch 2.4.
