• The Litterbug was the final "Donald Duck" short that was released theatrically; it isn't, however, Donald's last appearance. One "commercial" featurette (Steel and America) and two educational shorts, Donald's Fire Survival Plan and Family Planning would be produced four, five and six years later.
• This short along with Donald and the Wheel were the first "Donald Duck" shorts to be made with the Xerox process.
