Donald Duck's 50th Birthday Parade was a parade that was held from Mid-Late 1984 at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Donald Duck. Similar to other parades around this time frame, this parade consisted of basic floats decorated in anniversary logos, banners, ribbons and and characters parading on ground or on the floats.
Floats[]
- Opening: The parade begins with dancers holding up prop signs spelling out Donald Duck's name. These are followed with a float featuring a large picture of Donald Duck's classic design. On the front of the picture stand Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, while the back featured Huey, Dewey, and Louie playing musical instruments.
- Happy Birthday Donald Duck Signs: Four hexagonal floats appears in-between the main floats. Each one featured the Birthday logo on top of a pole, while the sides have pictures depicting Donald bursting through an eggshell with his name displayed below and a "Happy Birthday" in red on top. These sign floats were colored Pink, Yellow, Green and Blue respectively.
- Cupcake: Chip and Dale, dawned with aprons and chef hats appear on this float featuring a giant candle and a giant cupcake.
- Character Float: This large character float features many characters, ranging from Winnie the Pooh to Baloo.
- Birthday Cake: This float depicts Goofy and Pluto making a large birthday cake. In the Disneyland version on some special occasions (eg, on Donald Duck's actual 50th Birthday and during his 50th Birthday Homecoming) Donald appears on top of the cake.
- Donald's Float: Exclusive to the Magic Kingdom version, this float features Donald Duck next to a plexiglass barrier containing over fifty real-life ducks. A Caretaker for the ducks also walked next to the float in case the real ducks got hurt or attempted to escape. Because of this, the float didn't always appear, and if it wasn't featured Donald would appear on the final float as normal.
- Finale: The final float is small, but packs up enough Birthday madness to fit in Scrooge McDuck, Ludwig Von Drake, Grandma Duck, Daisy Duck, and the birthday boy himself - Donald Duck.
- In the Disneyland version, confetti cannons inside the float shoot out glitter.
- In the Magic Kingdom version, Donald wears a party hat with the anniversary logo on instead of his usual sailor's hat.
