Alice is the titular protagonist of the Disney Jr. animated series Alice's Wonderland Bakery. She is the descendant of her great-grandmother Alice from the 1951 Disney animated feature film Alice in Wonderland, who also shares the same name as her, and is a young baker working at the Wonderland Bakery somewhere in Wonderland.[2]
Background[]
Physical appearance[]
Alice is fairly similar to her great-grandmother, from the 1951 movie in terms of appearance and personality. She has big blue eyes, fair skin, and thick, medium-length, blonde hair held back by a blue checkered ribbon with a bow and a spiral button attached to it. Her dress was designed to be a blue cooking outfit by a chef coat with a small white apron that has a small pocket with a cupcake logo on it. Her sleeves and stockings are purple and pink-striped based on the Cheshire Cat, and wears white and blue-checkered sneakers with pink outlining, blue laces, and two spiral buttons attached to each side of the shoes. Much like in the original Alice in the Lewis Carroll books, she is seven-years-old.
At bedtime, she wears turquoise pajamas with blue and magenta spirals and magenta linings in the tips and pink slippers with ribbons that are the same as her one in her hair.
When out for a beach day, she wears a striped swimsuit with dark and light blue stripes, a blue-and-white skirt, and white sandals with magenta straps and ribbons that are the same as the one in her hair.
In the winter, she wears a blue, white, and pink winter jacket with teacup pockets and special earmuffs called, "ear muffins" that have a pink headband and muffs with white frosting and a pink icing swirl.
On Switcharoo Day, when she switched places with Cheshire Cat, she wears a dress with the Cheshire Cat's purple and pink stripes, matching cat paw boots, a matching tail, Cheshire Cat ears on her headband, and her face is painted with whiskers and pink on her nose.
Trivia[]
- She is the second Disney Junior character to be a descendant of a Disney character after Kit Secord from The Rocketeer.
- Concept art of Alice shows that she was designed by fan artist Luigi Lucarelli, who's known for making character designs like TMNT: Back to the 80s and a planned Nightmare Before Christmas spinoff series entitled Halloween Town which was a suggestion he came up with.
- Some of the concept art shows Alice looking almost exactly like her great-grandmother in the original film. Furthermore, earlier art suggested that she was initially going to be older.
- Interestingly, while Alice is depicted entering Wonderland, her life before or how exactly she came to get there is never explored.
