Everything Has a Useness is a deleted song from Disney's 1951 animated feature film, Alice in Wonderland, which it was planned and originally intended to have been sung by the Caterpillar after he explains to Alice that everything in life has a purpose, particularly the mushroom that will make her grow and shrink. Also, it was recorded on July 22, 1948 (probably sung by composers Mack David, Jerry Livingston, and Al Hoffman).
The song was later adapted by Jimmie Dodd for TV series The Mickey Mouse Club.
Lyrics[]
Everything has a useness
Nothing is really useless
It's easy to pick whatever your choose
If you use your useness
A one-legged table doesn't seen much good
Still it's the hardest kind of firewood
Everything has a useness
Including you
(Instrumental break with whistling)
Everything has a useness
Nothing is really useless
It's easy to pick whatever your choose
If you use your useness
A worm is a thing that you would call it, sir
Still is the blessing to the early bird
Everything has a useness
Including you!
