I'm a fifty-something bisexual pākehā (New Zealander of European descent) cis woman. Pronouns: she/her.

This journal is primarily concerned with fandom and fanfic (mostly Guardian-related, these days), Kdramas and other TV I'm watching, and offline life.

Spoilerphobia: I try to avoid behind-the-scenes stuff for Guardian, including: discussion of actor performance, both positive and negative; whether specific scenes were improvised, filmed first, etc; anything actor-related including pics and interviews and their names! Everything that isn't drama canon. My suspension of disbelief is a fragile, delicate thing, and I fail at compartmentalising. (This is why I can't have nice things.) In short: please don't tell me anything.

Blanket permission statement: You do not need to ask my permission to remix, podfic, translate, create art for or create secondary fanworks of any fanwork I have posted publicly. (My RPS is locked and I want to keep it that way, so I'm afraid that's off-limits except for stand-alone remixes and artworks, which are fine.) My main fandoms are Due South, White Collar, Captain America (Sam/Steve), and Guardian, and my fic is on AO3.

Please credit me and send me a link so I can squee at you and post about it.

I don't listen to a lot of podfic, but I love the idea of it and am deeply flattered by the idea of anyone wanting to transform my fic in that way. (If, for the purposes of podficcing, you need to edit or adapt one of my works, feel free. I understand that different media have different rhythms and requirements.)

A little bit about how I do Dreamwidth

1. I value your commitment to sparkle motion your comments and poll votes and lurkery eyeballs! ♥


2. But if reading my journal is no longer your thing, please don't ever feel obliged, even if we're friends. I may miss you, but I'd rather be talking to myself than feel like an obligation. (If it's because I've been offensive in some way, please do feel free to let me know if you want to. I'd appreciate it!)


3. I don't keep track of subscribers/access stuff. If I notice, I won't take unfollowings personally -- unless there are other indications that I should!


4. I read on a filter. I also sometimes track rather than subscribe to people's journals, because there are things I'm ridiculously sensitive about seeing. It works better for me to glance at the tags in a notification email and delete it, or to click through once, than to have those things linger on my reading page, especially when my reading page isn't moving very fast.
   
   Atm, the things I'm avoiding are references to the Guardian actors and any behind-the-scenes Guardian stuff. See above re Spoilerphobia. I'm not squicked by RPF -- I just can't compartmentalise (which is functionally kind of the same in this instance); sometimes I accidentally read stuff that breaks my ability to watch the show, or certain scenes, for weeks at a time. When that happens, it makes me very sad.
   
   This is also why I don't follow many people in the fandom.
