About

chromatic_fanfic is a community for sharing and discussing fanworks in any and all genre and fandoms, about or from the POV of characters of color.

If your fanwork strongly features a character of color, it belongs here. Fans of all backgrounds are welcome.

The Rules

1. Be respectful. Critique constructively, not personally. No flaming, no baiting, no trolling. Offenders will be ousted at the discretion of the moderator(s).
2. The focus of the community is fanworks, not broader discussions about race issues. Please post and comment accordingly.
3. You may post fanworks in their entirety here, or link to works posted in your journal or on another site. All stories should be cut, with the following information available above the cut:

   Title
   Fandom
   Rating
   Characters (at least one feature character must be a character of color)
   Short content summary

4. Because people of varying sensibilities will be reading, please include a warning if your work contains:
   • Graphic violence
   • Sexual violence or dub/no-con
   • Blood or other non-sexual bodily products
   • Edgeplay (knives/cutting, fire, extreme scenes)
   • Animals/tentacles
   • Character death
5. Please tag your story with the name of the character(s) of color and the fandom featured, as "coc: character's name" and "fandom: fandom's name". See the community tag page for guidance.

What is Welcome in chromatic_fanfic?

• Stories and fanworks that predominantly feature characters of color. This is a broad category that is left to the authors' discretion.
  • This includes anime fic
  • This includes RPF/RPS about the POC who play COCs in TV/Film. (Please be sure to note RPF/RPS in your headers.)
  • This includes illustrations and fanvids as well, visual media are welcome
  • If you're unsure if your COC is featured strongly enough or if your character qualifies as "of color" please just ask!
• Fanwork requests.
• Fanwork prompt threads.
• Comment fic/art.
• Works of all ratings, G through NC-17.
• Gen, het, slash and femmeslash.
• Meta about COCs/POCs in fanworks

First posts to the community are always moderated, subsequent postings are typically open. In limited circumstances, announcements about festivals, exchanges and other events may be posted to the community, please contact the moderators if you'd like to promote a CoC-centric event or generate additional interest in chromatic character representation in a general event that you're running.
