Wiener Towers Reign Supreme on Upper King in Charleston

Lamar’s Sporting Club recently debuted gourmet hot dogs from Sir Wieners

Forget seafood towers — the latest trend in Charleston is wiener towers. Instagram is going crazy for a triple-tier platter of gourmet hot dogs, truffle fries, and an abundance of dipping sauces (@chowingdowncharleston received 6.2 million views on the post).

Lamar’s Sporting Club (570 King Street) and Sir Wieners now offer an over-the-top presentation of fancy street meats on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The wiener tower includes a “PB Wiener Time” dog made with peanut butter, crushed pretzels, and bacon, as well as “The Wurst Wiener” with bratwurst, caramelized onions, and yellow mustard.

Lamar’s, part of the Republic Hospitality, is a super upscale sports bar on Upper King courting large parties, like the bachelorette and bachelor groups roaming the area, so this wiener tower might be the ticket to draw them in.
