Atlanta-based chef Ford Fry is bringing another one of his Mexican restaurants to the Triangle. He started with Superica in Cary and will now open Little Rey in Raleigh in December.

Located at 1101 E. Whitaker Mill Road, the 4,200+ square-foot space will feature a large dining room, a big outdoor patio, and a walk-up to-go window.

The menu at Little Rey takes inspiration from Northern Mexico with the wood-roasted chicken al carbon as the star of the menu. There are also breakfast tacos, queso fries, smoked chicken wings, street tacos, quesadillas, huevos rancheros, and soft-serve ice cream with flavors like banuelos crunch.

Fry and his team will host a pre-opening party on Saturday, December 7, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with free food, including a queso fountain, a selection of tacos, smoked chicken wings, soft serve, guacamole, and chips. Drinks, like margaritas and beer, will be for sale.

The official opening date for the Raleigh Little Rey is Monday, December 9.

If you want a taste of the restaurant before the opening, stop by Raleigh Underground Market on Sunday, November 10, to try out the Little Rey breakfast tacos.
