History[]
Pre-Captain Underpants[]
Harold's birthday is on March 6. He was born at Vine Street in Piqua, Ohio, next door to George Beard, who moved from Michigan. Harold's father had recently gotten divorced and moved to Nevada about six months ago, none of which had been easy for Harold. He didn't talk much about the subject, and kept to himself, mostly, and drew lots and lots of pictures, mainly about monsters and superheroes. The monsters he created were always evil and ferocious, and his superheroes were always brave and trustworthy. Harold loved getting lost in his wonderful hand-drawn adventures, where the heroes were always triumphant and gave the bad guys the punishment that they deserved.
Everyday, Harold would get dressed and eat breakfast, trying hard not to think about the tough day ahead of him. He hated every minute at his elementary school, with his mean teacher, rough bullies, and a straight-up evil principal. He would brush his teeth and very carefully place his favorite drawings into his backpack, unaware that this day, his life would be changed forever.
On that day, Harold's mother helped him put on his backpack at the front door, assuring him that he might make a friend that day. She then tells Harold that a little boy had moved in next door last weekend, and asks him if he knows his name. Harold had seen the kid once or twice but never met him clearly, and shrugs. His mom suggests that he should go over and introduce himself, but poor Harold shrugs again. His mother then sends him off with a kiss and hug and hands him two dollars from her purse for his lunch, but tells him not to use it on any of the vending machines. Unfortunately, Harold's lunch money would never reach the candy or pop machine anyways, as it was usually taken by a sixth-grade bully named Kipper Krupp, who, coincidentally, was the nephew of the principal. Harold knew from experience that the wisest thing to do would be to stay out of Kipper's way, making his daily walk to school much more complicated. He quickly ran in spurts from trash can to mailbox to the tree, hiding behind any object he could find, just in case Kipper and his mooks were nearby.
Usually, the worst section of Harold's mad dash to school was the intersection by Dogwood Drive and Rosita Lane, due to no hiding locations except for the alleys then to the coffeeshop's tree and the sign at the gas station across the street. Most days, he was lucky when waiting for the walk signal, until this particular day.
Harold crouched quietly behind the tree at the coffee shop, concentrating on the traffic lights and cars, watching out for Kipper and his mooks. This was very stressful, but after a few minutes, the cars paused, the walk signal lit up, and Harold glanced left and right one more time before bolting for the display sign at the front of the gas station. Unfortunately, Harold was almost immediately noticed by the sadistic owner of the gas station, Billy Bill, who yelled at him to get away from his sign. Then, the bullies came and started beating up Harold while Billy Bill laughed at him. Luckily, his new neighbor, George Beard arrived and changed the letters on Billy Bill's sign, which caused Bill to get beaten senseless by a bunch of women and used his tie to ward off the bullies. Unfortunately, the principal caught the boys and naturally, falsely accused them of bullying his nephew and sent them to detention.
George and Harold got to know each other in detention and started to make comic books together. As a result, the two became fast friends. However, they couldn't stand Kipper's reign of tyranny anymore, so they decided to prank him constantly, causing him to get embarrassed in front of his friends However, Kipper eventually catches on to the setup and, the next day, him and his gang steal the pizzas that George and Harold bought for the kindergartners as a way to torture them even further. Infuriated, the two friends come up with another major prank on the bullies in retaliation. First, they fill the four bullies' lockers with shaving cream to pass it off as ectoplasmic ghost juice. While initially this works, Principal Krupp points out that the "ectoplasm" was obviously sprayed through the vents on doors. Enraged and tired of the anonymous pranks, Kipper and his friends begin to torture the kindergarteners for answers, even stealing more pizzas, which George and Harold were actually counting on them to steal, as they ordered them to have double ghost chili peppers (Piqua Pizza Palace's hottest chili peppers) which cause the bullies' tongues to burn up completely, resulting in them getting sent to the nurse's office. George and Harold eventually create a comic that tells the tale of Wedgie Magee and the signs of his curse, all of which match their pranks. After Kipper and his gang "see" that ghost (George on stilts, wearing a giant pair of pants), they run outside in terror, during a severe thunderstorm and power outage.
On Monday morning, Kipper gives a 5 dollar bill to Donny Shoemeyer and promises to return all the money he stole from him. Elsewhere, Kipper's friends are passing out money to the kindergartners and doing good deeds for them. Kipper and his friends eventually gave back all the money they stole and never picked on anyone ever again. George and Harold would later call off the vengeful wrath of Wedgie Magee after they were certain their enemies were truly reformed. The boys had devoted their lives to pranks and making comic books. Their characters included Dog Man, Timmy the Talking Toilet, the Amazing Cow Lady, Super Diaper Baby, Ook and Gluk, and their most famous character, Captain Underpants.
The Adventures of Captain Underpants[]
One day, George and Harold decide to sabotage the school's homecoming game, just for fun. They do many things including putting helium in the football, putting bubble bath in the band's instruments and black pepper in the cheerleaders' pom-poms. Mr. Krupp finds out about this with a surveillance video he secretly installed. He blackmailed the boys into waiting on him, or else he'll be seriously forced to show the tape to the football team.
After 4-6 weeks of backbreaking slave labor, George and Harold purchase a 3-D Hypno Ring so Mr. Krupp will forget all about the blackmailing and the sabotaging of the football game. However, they get carried away and hypnotize him into thinking he's Captain Underpants, one of their characters. Mr. Krupp starts running around the city and George and Harold have to stop him from causing trouble.
Just then, robots rob the jewelry store and capture Captain Underpants. The boys barge in and help Captain Underpants stop the robots' creator, Dr. Diaper from blowing up the moon, so he can take over the world. After sending Dr. Diaper to jail, the boys go back to school and try to undo the hypnosis, but nothing happens. George decides to splash water on Captain Underpants' head and he's snapped out of his hypnosis. George and Harold are free from their blackmail and are happy again. Unfortunately, they threw away the instructions, which contained a vital piece of information. So now, when Mr. Krupp hears the snapping of fingers, he snaps back into his trance and changes into Captain Underpants.
Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets[]
George and Harold see a poster advertising the school's annual Invention Convention, but they discover they are banned from attending or participating due to their previous prank on last year's convention. The two then decide to sabotage the inventions on display, except for Melvin Sneedly's invention the PATSY 2000 (which could convert 2D pictures to 3D life forms), in exchange for Melvin not tattling. However, the resulting chaos leads Melvin to break his promise and snitch on them, resulting in the two to be put in detention.
After creating another comic book, the two decide to print copies to sell on the playground. But seeing that teachers were in the office, they decide to use the PATSY 2000, thinking it is actually a simple copy machine. However, the PATSY 2000 brings the Talking Toilets from the comic's cover to life, bent on eating everyone in their sights. Mr. Krupp then spots them exiting the study hall, and promptly suspends them. However, the teacher's careless abuse releases the Talking Toilets, who eats them all up except for George, Harold, and Mr. Krupp (who becomes Captain Underpants once more). After the useless act of shooting underpants into the Toilets' mouths, the three heroes feed the man eaters cafeteria food, causing them to vomit out the teachers and pass out.
Unfortunately, the Turbo Toilet 2000 appears and eats Captain Underpants. Locking themselves in the school, George and Harold hastily create a Robo-Plunger and bring him to life, successfully beating the behemoth. After clearing their suspension with the revived Mr. Krupp, George and Harold command the robot to repair the school and take all the toilets to Uranus. After the ordeal, George and Harold become Principal for a Day, and launch a festival on the playground as the teachers and Melvin are forced to repeatedly write sentences on a chalkboard.
Captain Underpants and the Invasion of the Incredibly Naughty Cafeteria Ladies from Outer Space (and the Subsequent Assault of the Equally Evil Lunchroom Zombie Nerds)[]
After seeing a baking soda volcano in science, George and Harold decide to prank the Cafeteria Ladies with the same idea. They create a fake birthday cupcake recipe from Mr. Krupp that contains baking soda and vinegar and give it to the lunch ladies. Instead of making a batch of cupcakes just for Mr. Krupp, the Lunch Ladies decide to make cupcakes for the whole school and make 100 batches of the recipe at once. This results in a large wave of green goop filling the entire school. George and Harold deny involvement, as they did not intend for the Lunch Ladies to make that large a batch.
Fed up with George and Harold's pranks, the cafeteria ladies quit. Almost immediately, three strangely reptilian Cafeteria Ladies apply for the job, and Mr. Krupp takes away George and Harold's lunch privileges by making them eat with him. After disgusting and sickening Mr. Krupp with their strange mixture of sandwiches (such as peanut butter and gummy worms), George and Harold sneak out only to discover that the students eating lunch have been transformed into evil Zombie Nerds. Now sitting between a window and an island counter they grab the mysterious substance and dump the contents out the window and on to an oblivious dandelion.
Shortly after, the strange reptilians are forced to grab another container of the substance, located in their UFO on the main campus building.
Inside they find some Anti-Evil Zombie Nerd Juice, some Ultra Nasty Self-Destruct Juice, and some Extra Strength Super-Power Juice. The aliens however then suddenly come in and lock them in a cell, but luckily George and Harold hid the juice cartons they found behind their backs. Zorx starts the ship up so that the ship is hovering a few feet above the school. Klax then takes some Super Evil Rapid Growth Juice from the fridge so that the aliens can put the juice in the spray gun which will shower the juice over the zombie nerds. While laughing victoriously at their apparent victory, George and Harold swap the labels of the juice cartons and the signs of the spray gun and fuel tank, so the aliens pour self destruct juice into the fuel tank instead of rapid growth juice into the spray gun, which makes the spaceship explode.
Captain Underpants jumps off the spaceship with George and Harold, claiming that he can use toilet paper to swing onto the ground as he proclaimed that he did it in his last comic book George and Harold wrote earlier. Of course, the toilet paper breaks because it cannot support their weight, so the trio start falling to the ground fast, but Captain Underpants' cape then acts like a parachute, making them fall more slowly and gently to the ground. However, they, unfortunately, end up landing near the mutated dandelion, who then grabs Captain Underpants down with its teeth and knocks George and Harold onto the school roof. George and Harold give Captain Underpants some of the superpower juice to help him break free and defeat the dandelion. The juice gave him the ability of enhanced strength and flight the ability to fight.
After the dandelion is defeated, George wonders how to get the zombie nerds back to normal. Harold suggests using the anti-evil zombie nerd juice to fix the problem. George notes that he was hoping for something more dramatic, but as they are running out of pages they should do it. Mixing anti-evil zombie nerd juice with root beer and having all the zombies drink it, they turn everyone back to normal, but not before getting the Captain to dress back up like Mr. Krupp and pouring water on his head.
Something has changed about Mr. Krupp though because he drank the super-power juice, so now whenever he becomes Captain Underpants, he can fly and use other superpowers, thus making it harder for George and Harold to keep tabs on him (evident after a girl snaps her fingers in front of Mr. Krupp while she was listening to music). Instead of Harold and George looking out the window witnessing Captain Underpants running into the city. They are outside on his cape clinging on as he flies into the city instead.
Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants[]
George and Harold are forbidden to go on the school field trip, so they have to stay behind and clean the teacher's lounge. To get back at the teachers, they rig the place so they are covered in Styrofoam packing peanuts. Mr. Fyde sees this and decides to quit, thinking he's going crazy.
Sometime later, George and Harold get a new science teacher named Professor Poopypants and everyone laughs at his ridiculous name. The next day, Professor Poopypants builds a new robotic gerbil jogger and everyone is impressed, at least until George and Harold ruin everything and cause him to be laughed at again. Worse, they make a comic book about him as an evil villain.
Professor Poopypants shrinks the school and forces the entire world to change their names into silly names or they'll be shrunk out of existence. In George and Harold's cases, they are renamed "Fluffy and Cheeseball". Fluffy and Cheeseball summon Captain Underpants and have him grab the professor's growth machine. Unfortunately, Poopypants shrinks Captain Underpants and the machine, so Fluffy decides to use the growth machine to make Captain Underpants as big as a giant. But he accidentally makes Cheesball's hand big as well.
After a big battle in Flip-o-Rama, Captain Underpants defeats Poopypants and the boys return the school and everyone in it to their normal sizes as well as give them back their old names. When Poopypants is arrested, George and Harold question why he didn't change his name instead of forcing everyone else to change theirs.
After receiving a letter from Poopypants (who now goes by Tippy Tinkletrousers), George and Harold realize that they shouldn't have made fun of Tippy in the first place, then, he wouldn't have turned evil.
Captain Underpants and the Wrath of the Wicked Wedgie Woman[]
When Ms. Ribble announces that she will be retiring, the boys decide to make a comic book about her. When she disapproves, she sends them to the principal's office. At that same time, they trick Mr. Krupp into signing a card for them, which they later pass off as a marriage proposal.
The following week, the wedding arrives and Ribble reveals that she doesn't want to marry Krupp. At first, Krupp is happy about this, but when she begins insulting him, Krupp reveals that George and Harold were behind the trick, as always. The boys run for their lives, avoiding Ribble nearly strangling them.
On Monday, Ms. Ribble tells the boys that she has changed their grades so that they will become left back as punishment for their little stunt (including a made-up grade called a "G"). To stop Ms. Ribble, the boys dig up their Hypno-Ring to trick her into changing their grades back to normal, but also tell her she won't think that she is Wedgie Woman, the villain from their latest comic book. Little do they know that the Hypno-Rings cause women to do the opposite of what they are commanded to do.
That night, Ms. Ribble (who now thinks she's Wedgie Woman) reads George and Harold's comic books and attacks them at the treehouse for some information. Just then, some Super Power Juice spills down on Wedgie Woman's hair and it causes her hair to operate like arms. She takes George and Harold back to her house, ties them up, and creates robot duplicates of the two boys.
George and Harold escape Wedgie Woman’s house by an axe cutting through the ropes and see Captain Underpants hanging from a pole because the robots sprayed him with starch. George and Harold try to inform him that he’s not really weak, but he won’t believe them. When they can’t buy any fabric softener, they then draw a short comic story telling his secret origin and that starch can’t hurt him. This makes Captain Underpants confident again and he defeats Wedgie Woman’s robots.
George and Harold then trick Wedgie Woman into spraying hair remover, which takes away her magic beehive (along with George and Harold’s hair). Using the Hypno-Ring, the boys erase Wedgie Woman’s memories of her evil double identity, the wedding, changing George and Harold’s grades, and planning to retire. They also make her into a kinder and better person, which makes their class a better place for learning.
Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy - Part 1: The Night of the Nasty Nostril Nuggets[]
In Speech Class, George and Harold create a new fad called, "Squishies", where you put two packets of ketchup underneath a toilet seat and it squirts people's legs. Melvin doesn't care and wants to show off his newest invention, the Combine-O-Tron 2000, which emerges people's molecules together. He uses a hamster named Sulu and a bionic super hamster robot. When Sulu won’t obey him, he threatens to smack him with a paddle, but Sulu spanks him back using his powers. Melvin runs off and disowns the hamster, so George and Harold adopt him.
Melvin tells on George and Harold for getting everyone’s legs covered in ketchup and Krupp sends them to detention. To get revenge, the boys make a comic book depicting Melvin as an evil villain.
The very next day, George and Harold bring Sulu back to class to do some neat tricks, but then Melvin arrives and has been turned into a snot monster. He explains that he tried to combine himself with a robot, but then sneezed at the last second and now he’s become a monster. George and Harold ask him how long it will take to change him back, Melvin replies that it will take about six months. During his time as the Bionic Booger Boy, Melvin starts grossing everyone out and getting snot all over the place.
Some time later, Krupp and Miss Anthrope take the class to a tissue factory, which causes Melvin to grow to a large size and rampage through the city. Miss Anthrope threatens to send him to detention, only for Melvin to snatch her. The boys summon Captain Underpants and he saves her. When the drool from a disgusting sloppy kiss changes Captain Underpants back to Krupp, Melvin swallows him whole. Just when all hope is lost, Sulu saves the boys and defeats Melvin.
Melvin’s parents arrive to inform everyone that they’re trying to make a machine to change Melvin back to normal, but George suggests they just switch the batteries in the Combine-O-Tron, to which Mr. Sneedly takes credit for. When Krupp and Melvin are returned to normal, they begin acting strangely. Just then, three Robo-Boogers come to life, smash the Combine-O-Tron and chase the protagonists.
Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy - Part 2: The Revenge of the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers[]
After Sulu blasts the Robo-Boogers into space, the four walk back to school. They then realize that the Combine-O-Tron must have caused Mr. Krupp and Melvin to switch bodies. Melvin explains that it will take six months to build another Combine-O-Tron, since the old one got smashed. George suggests that Melvin could build a time machine to go back into time and recover the machine before it got smashed, though Melvin takes credit for it. When Melvin snaps his fingers, Mr. Krupp turns into Captain Underpants and flies out of the window.
George and Harold explain the whole thing to Melvin, who decides to use his "power" to blackmail George and Harold into making a comic about him destroying Captain Underpants and how he plots to transfer Captain Underpants' powers into his body when they switch back. If they don't comply, they will have extra homework for the rest of their academic careers.
The boys then show Melvin the comic book they made, which does the opposite of what he told them to do. He then gives them detailed instructions on what to do when they get to the past. He also warns them not to use the time machine for two days and give it a day to cool off. Otherwise, they will end up in an alternate dimension, but the boys don't listen and change the letters on a sign.
The boys end up in the past, where they find their past selves. They manage in switch the Combine-O-Tron with a fake one and erase Mr. Sneedly's memories of seeing them. Just then, Miss Singerbrains grabs the inventions and decides to take them to the police, mistaking them for dangerous weapons. When George and Harold can't catch up to her, they borrow a pterodactyl from prehistory and use her to catch up Singerbrains. Harold grows attached to the pterodactyl and decides to name her, "Crackers", even though George tells Harold that they are not keeping her. While George looks after Miss Singerbrains, he orders Harold to take Crackers back to her natural time period. Little does he know that Harold went against his orders and took her back to the treehouse instead.
George and Harold make it back to the present and reunite with Melvin and Captain Underpants. The two switch their bodies back to normal, but Melvin has taken away all of Captain Underpants' superpowers and mocks him for it. When George and Harold see that the Robo-Boogers have returned and are terrorizing the city, they try to tell Melvin to go do something, but he refuses unless they write a new comic about him. Since Melvin won't listen to reason, the boys decide to stop the Robo-Boogers themselves. They discover that Vitamin C is their true weakness, so Captain Underpants starts irritating them to anger them and make them squirt orange juice into their faces, destroying them. The news arrives and Melvin tries to take credit, only for George and Harold to put Captain Underpants' powers back into their rightful place. Melvin is then chased by some civilians that Captain Underpants annoyed while he was in Melvin's body.
George and Harold go home only to find out that Harold took Crackers back to the treehouse. George tells Harold they can let her stay for the night, but they are taking her back the next day.
The very next day, George and Harold take Sulu and Crackers back to the time machine to return Crackers home. Harold doesn't want to because Melvin said they should give the machine a day to cool off, but George doesn't listen and they use the time machine anyway, causing some sort of meltdown to occur.
Captain Underpants and the Preposterous Plight of the Purple Potty People[]
George, Harold, Crackers, and Sulu find themselves in an alternate universe where everything is opposite; the teachers are nice, the school has tasty food, Melvin is dumb, and their enemies have become good guys. When they try to go home, they find out that Sulu and Crackers have been kidnapped by their alternate dimension counterparts. They find a comic book telling the origin of their twins' evil minion, Captain Blunderpants, who apparently has turned their treehouse into a swinging bachelor pad by robbing stores.
George and Harold go over to their evil twins' treehouse, where they see that Crackers and Sulu are being hypnotized into being wicked slaves. However, since Crackers is a girl (unbeknownst to the boys), it doesn't work on her, allowing her to fly them back to the time machine
They make it back to their own world and try to go back to the time machine to save Sulu, but George's father comes along and reminds them that it is Grandparents Day and they should come and have some dinner with their families. They hand George's grandma and Harold's grandpa a comic book they made for them, but refuse to sit down and eat, leading to an argument with George's dad. While arguing, George and Harold's grandparents drink the super power juice while reading the comic books. Just then, George and Harold see their evil twins making Sulu grow large with the Goosy Grow 4000 and making him rampage through the town.
When the boys see that the super power juice is gone, they go down to Mr. Krupp's house to turn him into Captain Underpants. Captain Underpants defeats Sulu and the boys manage to change Captain Blunderpants back into a nice principal. They tie up Evil George , Evil Harold, and nice Mr. Krupp. Just then, there is a rainstorm and Captain Underpants changes back into Krupp and Nice Krupp changes back into Blunderpants. Blunderpants breaks through the ropes and starts attacking George and Harold when all of a sudden, George's grandma and Harold's grandpa arrive and use their new superpowers to defeat Blunderpants, while George and Harold use the Shrinky Pig to shrink their evil doubles.
The boys return Sulu back to normal and send their evil twins back to their own dimension. Unfortunately, the cops arrive and arrest them for robbing the bank (it was really their evil twins).
Captain Underpants and the Terrifying Re-Turn of Tippy Tinkletrousers[]
After getting arrested, George, Harold, and Krupp are put on trial for nearly an entire year and are found guilty. During their time in juvie, George and Harold actually enjoy it because they have a music teacher and an art teacher. When Tippy Tinkletrousers breaks out of jail, he nabs George and Harold to get information on Captain Underpants out of them. Thinking quickly, the boys snap their fingers and change Mr. Krupp into Captain Underpants. When Captain Underpants causes Tippy to freeze his robotic pants.
Realizing that the Captain is too powerful for him to beat, the Professor decides to go back in time five years ago to escape from him. Tippy does so and successfully escapes from Captain Underpants. When Kipper Krupp and his friends encounter Tippy Tinkletrousers, who had traveled back in time to the point where the bullies had just fallen for the ghost prank. Upon seeing Tippy appear before them (as they assumed he and his robo-pants were Wedgie Magee's ghost due to it being dark outside), the bullies go insane and start to do nonsensical things, such as eating dirt. Kipper and his friends eventually get sent to the Piqua Valley Home for the Reality-Challenged, where the former science teacher of the Jerome Horwitz Elementary School, Morty Fyde, resides in the future. This in turn got Benjamin fired as that made the authorities assume he was responsible for Kipper and his friends' breakdown
When Tippy causes Mr. Krupp to lose his job and prevent him from becoming Captain Underpants, causing Dr. Diaper to blow up the moon and the aliens to succeed in turning everyone into zombie nerds. Tippy then goes back in time again to undo his mistake.
Captain Underpants and the Revolting Revenge of the Radioactive Robo-Boxers[]
Tippy sees that the timeline is back to normal, however he has also arrived at the point where George and Haroldwere getting arrested in Book 8. He then freezes the cops, and chases George, Harold, Crackers, and Sulu around town. The next day, George and Harold are still hiding from Tippy's robotic freezing pants.
They then go to the school with a plan to save the two pets by traveling 65 million years ago and leaving them there. However, Mr. Krupp then notices them and gets mad and furious that the two are running away from him while he is asking them to tell him why they are late to school. It then turns out that he is there with a box of curtains, because they keep on disappearing (due to his alter ego Captain Underpants using them as capes). When George and Harold reach the library, they lock the door behind them, so Mr. Krupp won't get in. However, Mr. Krupp begins to unlock the door with his keys and barges in after George and Harold who couldn't handle any more problems especially Mr Krupp, they really didn't have the time for him. He then barges in and bangs on the Purple Potty Time Machine demanding that they come out. However, Tippy then appears again, and is about to freeze Mr. Krupp. However, when they go back in time, Mr. Krupp also goes with them. (As he was standing too close to the Purple Potty.) Tippy then sends Tiny Tippy back in time when George and Harold were going in the Purple Potty and Mr. Krupp soon follows. Tiny Tippy then learns that they're going to the Mesozoic era. He then tells his two selves the news, and the three Tippys go back 65 million years.
Meanwhile, 65 million years ago, George and Harold notice that Mr. Krupp is also there with them hanging on a tree branch calling for help. Harold goes out to grab his hand, but then Tippy kicks the tree. The five are then knocked down and the Purple Potty is then destroyed. George, Harold, and Mr. Krupp are saved by Crackers and Sulu. However, Mr. Krupp does not know this yet. Then, Tippy threatens to kill George and Harold. So the boys quickly snap their fingers at Mr. Krupp, turning him into Captain Underpants Big Tippy then falls into a lake, turning Captain Underpants back into Mr. Krupp. Just then, Supa Mega Tippy and Slightly Younger Tiny Tippy arrive. Tippy then tells the two that Captain Underpants' weakness is water. However, Supa Mega Tippy then tells Big Tippy that HE is going to destroy Captain Underpants, not him. Out of anger, Big Tippy sets off his nuclear bomb. But Supa Mega Tippy kicks him into another part of the world. However, the bomb still blows up, killing all the dinosaurs. The six then travel to a time about 200,000 years ago, when cavemen first existed.
Supa Mega Tippy then captures George, Harold, Crackers, and Sulu. Sulu then tears a hole through Tippy's robotic hands, and the four friends fly off, promising Mr. Krupp that they'll come back for him. Tippy then holds Mr. Krupp hostage under a waterfall until further notice.
Meanwhile, the four friends travel over to a cave people village, asking for help. However, they don't understand their accent. Tippy then attacks the village, forcing them all to seek refuge in a cave. George and Harold discover that the cave people understand pictures better, so they write a wordless comic book on the cave walls to tell the cave people that Tippy is evil and he must be stopped.
After the cave people finish reading the comic, they and the duo all start drawing out plans on how to stop Tippy. They then set up traps for Tippy and even burn up his robot pants. And when he fires the Freezy-Beam 4000 at the cavemen, Slightly Younger Tiny Tippy tampers with it so it won't turn off. Tippy tries his hardest to turn it off, but the emergency shut off is stuck. The ice spreads throughout the destroyed village quickly, and into the mountains. Slightly Younger Tiny Tippy then steals the Goosy-Grow 4000, and zaps himself to a range of 120-150 feet. As he is about to reach 200 feet, the Goosy-Grow 4000 then falls on the ice, spreading it throughout the world.
George, Harold, Crackers, Sulu, and the cavemen run over to Mr. Krupp to free him. However, the ice encases everyone and freezes them. When all hope seems lost, Tippy, now 200 feet tall, grabs everyone with his robotic hands. Then, George and Harold snap their fingers again, turning Mr. Krupp back into Captain Underpants. Captain Underpants rips off Tippy's robotic pants, leaving him standing there in his boxers.
Using the pants as a net, Captain Underpants, George, Harold, Crackers, and Sulu take the cave people over to France, giving them a new place to live. When they return to Tippy, asking for a ride back to the future, Tippy squirts water from the water bottle at Captain Underpants' face, turning him back into Mr. Krupp. While they are all falling, Crackers is getting sicker and sicker for some strange reason. Tippy then captures the five with his hand, and they all get ready to go back home. George and Harold both vow to start acting more mature and take their classes seriously as they go forward in time.
About 200,000 years later, the five notice that they're home. As they are celebrating, they notice that everything looks so old. Then Tippy tells them that he will not hurt them, but is going to destroy Captain Underpants, and that's why he brought them thirty years after the present, so that way the world doesn't have to get destroyed when Captain Underpants is destroyed. He then lets George and Harold go. Crackers is continuing to get sicker, so Sulu makes him a nest. The four friends watch as Tippy tosses Mr. Krupp around with his foot, laughing maniacally.
George and Harold however can't hear the battle due to the yelling teachers nearby. Suddenly, an old Mr. Krupp arrives and tells the teachers to get the students in class now. The duo discover that the screaming and yelling teachers are themselves in the future, but they're not very nice teachers and are actually teachers that are similar to the teachers they are used to. As it turns out, the vow that George and Harold made about promising to act more mature is what made them similar to the teachers they were used to.
In response, the duo make a new vow to always be themselves. After that, the adult George and Harold disappear, leaving old Mr. Krupp standing there confused. Then, they snap their fingers at him, turning him into Captain Underpants. The duo tell old Captain Underpants to save the present Captain Underpants. He does what he is told, and when he brings Mr. Krupp back down, George and Harold snap their fingers, making TWO Captain Underpantses. They each beat up Tippy and his giant robo-boxers, but Tippy then sets off his nuclear bomb. Tippy then states to the six that the bomb will destroy the entire galaxy, as it is more powerful than a supernova. Suddenly, Crackers and Sulu sacrifice themselves by sending themselves, Tippy, and the Robo-Boxers back 13.7 billion years ago. When the three go back, the bomb explodes, causing the Big Ka-Bloosh theory, incinerating Tippy and creating the universe.
13.7 billion years later, George and Harold command old Captain Underpants to gather his clothes, fly into the school, get dressed and wash his face off with water to turn back into old Mr. Krupp. They, along with Present Captain Underpants, realize that they are stuck in the future without a time machine. Then, Harold points out that Crackers is a girl, because she laid three eggs. The three then decide to take care of the eggs, seeing as Crackers did something for them, so in return, they'll do something for HER. As the three are walking through town, possibly going to see if there are homes are still around, they can stay in, Melvin appears in an octopus suit and grabs Captain Underpants and the boys. They think they are going to be in danger by Melvin again, but Melvin takes them back to the present time from which they left in the first place in Melvin's last invention "The Purple Potty Time Machine", Melvin warns them that something bad has happened since they've been gone.
Captain Underpants and the Tyrannical Retaliation of the Turbo Toilet 2000[]
The story begins where the last book left off with Melvin kidnapping George, Harold, and Captain Underpants. He takes them to the present where Tippy Tinkletrousers is pursuing their past selves to the past. George and Harold ask why Melvin saved them by hacking into the bank's computer and defacing their surveillance photos, because in the past Melvin hated them. Melvin simply replies that 'he had his reasons.' Melvin warns them that something bad is going to happen in two weeks and teleports to the unknown.
When they get home, Captain Underpants flies off to Mr. Krupps house "as commanded by George and Harold" to wash off with water turning back into Mean Mr. Krupp. George and Harold need a lot of sleep due to the fact they had not slept for the past thirty hours. However, their angry parents punish them by making them do chores because they skipped school the previous day in the last book. Unfortunately for them, they forgot the following day was test day, so they had to stay up all night and study. The next day, they accidentally oversleep and miss school and the tests.
The next day, Mr. Krupp is surprisingly happy and claims to the duo it's the greatest day of his life since he met George and Harold. He and Miss Calculator give the duo their report cards and it's revealed that because George and Harold had missed the quizzes, they got bad grades and according to Mr. Krupp, there are no makeup tests for the missed quizzes and the final exams have been canceled this year. However, Mr. Krupp reveals that the worst part for them is that George got 62.7% (which is still passable), but Harold got 59.7% meaning George and Harold will be forced to take different paths after the end of the year.
Later that day, George gets the idea of he and Harold using Melvin's time traveling squid suit to go back in time to yesterday morning and take the tests, thus preventing the teachers and Mr. Krupp from giving them all F's on Super Secret Test Day and separating them. When the duo arrive in the past, Harold notices they have created an extra Robo-Squid suit (the one from yesterday), but he and Harold decide to ignore it as Melvin will now have two Robo-Squid suits. George and Harold head to school (feeling happy about going there which they find weird), take all of the quizzes they initially missed, and manage to pass most of the quizzes. When George and Harold return to the treehouse, they discover their actions have created another George and Harold (their yesterday selves). When the yesterday duo wakes up, the present day duo explains why they are here and what were they are doing. The Georges and Harolds decide to use a system where the Yesterday boys will go to school on even numbered days, and George and Harold will go to school on odd numbered days.
That night George and Harold buy calzones and ice cool root bear from Piqua Pizza Palace and watching monsters movie's.
The next day, George and Harold are at home, and run out of money. They create a new Super Diaper Baby comic and go to school to sell it. Ms. Anthrope catches them though, so George tries to claim she is dreaming. She doesn't fall for it and demands Ms. Ribble to send George and Harold to her office immediately. This results in her seeing both George and Harold and their yesterday counterparts, which she is shocked and confused at. Ms. Anthrope believes that what George said is true and goes running out her office in her underwear. Yesterday George and Harold get mad at the original counterparts for coming to school and George and Harold explain they ran out of food and wanted to sell comic books to make money so they can purchase food and camping toilet thingys Yesterday George and Harold however take the comics away, so they can sell them and tell George and Harold to get out of the school before somebody else sees them.
George and Harold aren't happy at being told what to do and try to cause mischief. However they are seen by the other faculty members and, upon seeing George and Harold in the hallway and their yesterday counterparts in Ms. Ribble's room, they instantly believe they are dreaming and proceed in stripping down to their underwear and doing crazy things. Mr. Meaner grabbed a garden hose and sprayed it down the hallway creating a slip'n'slide and various other teachers joined in and slid down the hallway, Miss Labler run to the teachers lounge and eating everyone's lunches. But Mr Krupp, however, is shocked by the presence of two Georges and two Harolds in the same way he is in Book 5. and all the kids in the classroom and Melvin see the madness and the two Georges and two Harolds. When the police arrive, they arrest the faculty except Mr. Krupp for indecent exposure, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, and pantsing an officer. The police are unsure of what to do with Mr. Krupp as he didn't actually do anything wrong, but they eventually admit him to the Piqua Valley Home for the Reality-Challenged.
Twelve days later, Yesterday George yells at George and Harold and says the past two weeks are a disaster Harold get confuse and say wasn't bad is going suppose to happen in two weeks George Harold and their Yesterday concepts thought nothing bad is going to happen.
However the Turbo Toilet 2000 attacks the city, and George and Harold make Talking Toilet costumes and lure the Turbo Toilet 2000 to break into the Piqua Valley Home for the Reality Challenge (as George and Harold couldn't get pass the woman in the front room to see Mr. Krupp). When the two of them find an intercom after the nurse is distracted off somewhere, a quick finger snap is done through the intercom speakers by the duo in order to for Mr. Krupp to become Captain Underpants. Captain Underpants breaks out of the strap jacket taking a red curtain from the window and flies out to take a stand against the TT2000 to fight. The began to battle and then soon after, the Captain is victorious, but one of the Turbo Toilet 2000's tears lands on Captain Underpants' face and he turns back into Mr. Krupp who is then grabbed by the TT2000. Mr. Krupp pleads insanity to the TT2000 to be let go of but TT2000 said he will let him go if he tells him where George and Harold are. So Mr. Krupp directs the Turbo Toilet 2000 to the treehouse of George and Harold, where the Yesterday boys reside.
Atfer he and George cot back to the treehouse To George's disgust, George and Harold realize that the hamsterdactyls must have been the result of Sulu and Crackers breeding. After naming their new pets and putting them to bed, the four boys realize there are too many loose ends in the story (the city is destroyed, the school faculty are in jail, there are two George's and Harold's and the hamsterdactyls think the George's and Harold's are their mommies). Therefore they must be ready to face another sequel.
Captain Underpants and the Sensational Saga of Sir Stinks-A-Lot[]
School restarts and it appears everything is back to normal and nothing unusual has happened such as crime happening at the school or Mr. Krupp being snapped into a trance becoming Captain Underpants.
Yesterday George and Yesterday Harold return to the tree house, where George and Harold are horrified at the amount of homework they have brought home. The four of them start completing their assignments, but George and Harold keep getting distracted. They work until bedtime. While Yesterday George and Yesterday Harold complete their half of the work, George and Harold barely do any of their halves. Yesterday George suggests he and Yesterday Harold should go to school the following day while George and Harold stay up until 5:00 am completing their work.
A few days later, George and Harold have caught colds due to staying up late to complete the homework Yesterday George and Yesterday Harold have brought home during the week. They decide to watch TV and come across a TV advert for Rid-O-Kid 2000™ featuring Mr. Meaner, which says:
"Are your kids annoying? Do they fight and whine and complain all the time? Do they refuse to eat anything but macaroni and cheese? Are they sucking the LIFE out of you? Well, Rid-O-Kid 2000™ is here to help. Our scientifically proven formula will transform even the most wilful child into an obedient, respectful and hardworking slave– er, I mean, angel. And Rid-O-Kid 2000™ has a full day's supply of Vitamin C, so you can feel GOOD about dosing your child with a narcotic that has never been tested for long-term effects. So turn your brat into a brown-noser... with Rid-O-Kid 2000™. Rid-O-Kid 2000™ - the cure for childhood."
George and Harold dress up as an adult and go to school to find out what's going on. They see all the students acting as slaves for the teachers by doing their work for them, giving them messages, shaving their beards, plucking their eyebrows, giving them haircuts, filling out their tax forms and washing their cars. Harold exclaims that the teachers must have turned all the students into mindless slaves.
The disguised George and Harold then manipulate the children into doing the opposite of what they have been told to do, such as washing the windows wrong, filling their cars with cottage cheese and humiliating the teachers. When the teachers and staff notice this, they, along with Mr. Krupp, try to find out who is responsible for this, but all the children in a trance can tell them is that it was a grown up. Mr. Krupp then tells Mr. Meaner about what has happened and this angers him to go out and get to the bottom of what's going on and to find who caused the prank so he rushed to his car that was filled with cottage cheese and drove off the school premises to find the gown up who caused this. He came across a group of kids in the trance who were watering the inside of the house, mowing the garden and painting the lawn. He asks them who told them to do all those things and all the children could say was a grown up but didn't say who the grown-up was. Mr. Meaner rushes back to the car angry and drives off back to the factory, going to his invention with new modifications. He feels that a kid has caused this but he doesn't know who the kid is.
Later, he returns in his ape suit, causing havoc in the town of Piqua, unleashing the foul odor everywhere. Present Harold and George, who are still sick, witness what was Mr. Meaner is doing. However, they can't smell, so the stench has no effect on them. However, Harold and George are almost better and that isn't a good thing so they go to their parents who are having dinner with their yesterday counterparts. The Present counterparts leave in a deep depression. Present George then has an idea. He and present Harold rush to Melvin's house, where the garage is open and they take off with the Glow in the Dark Time Traveling Robo Squid.
Later After Present Harold and George were in the future meeting their future counterparts and meeting the family they return with their future counterparts in the present timeline meeting Crackers and Sulu's children. Adult George and Harold tell their younger selves to stay in the clubhouse and rest up because they have already been through a lot.
Things were back to the way they were, and as young George and Harold return their older counterparts to their own time, they find that Mr. Krupp didn’t turn into Captain Underpants at the snap of a finger, because Mr. Meaner erased Captain Underpants from existence. As a woman was passing by jogging listening to music and snapping her fingers, Mr. Krupp was still as mean as usual yelling at the woman passing by. George and Harold and their older counterparts decided that they were not going to contribute to the plot and fix the problem which indicated that they were going to move on without Captain Underpants. George and Harold with Melvin's invention "Glow in the Dark Time Traveling Robo Squid." return their older selves back to their future timeline with Tony, Orlando, and Dawn. George, Harold and the 3 offspring of Crackers and Sulu take off once more with the Time Traveling Robo Squid going on a new adventure back in time to save Crackers and Sulu to meet their children
The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby[]
George and Harold were in the gym one day running ketchup packets over with their skateboards on the floor it was all fun and games until their principal Mr. Krupp comes in and yells at them and tells them to clean up the floor and meet him in his office, So George and Harold clean the gym floor up with a garden hose and went to Mr. Krupp's office.
Mr. Krupp is furious with the boys and he punishes them but since writing a sentence over and over on a chalkboard or on paper wouldn't teach the boys anything he assigns them to write a 100-page essay on good citizenship and he angrily tells them not to turn it into a 100-page "Captain Underpants" comic book either. Much to George and Harold's dismay, After they left Mr. Krupp's office. George and Harold were bummed over this assignment until they had an idea they created a new superhero comic called "Super Diaper Baby". The next day they present their 100 page essay to Mr. Krupp which angers him and he sentences George and Harold to detention where they write on the black board.
The Adventures of Ook and Gluk: Kung-Fu Cavemen From the Future[]
George and Harold also make a cameo in the scientific disclaimer that comes after Sneedly's disclaimer. telling the reader that they know everything with their Purple Potty
Super Diaper Baby 2: The Invasion of the Potty Snatchers[]
The story behind the creation of the original Super Diaper Baby comic by George and Harold is first shown. It is revealed that when their principal, Mr. Krupp, read it, he tore it up, and asked George and Harold why they can never write about anything besides poop. Stumped on what else to write about, George and Harold ask Mr. Krupp. In response to this, he shows them his favorite book when he was their age, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" by Dr. Seuss. After reading the book, the two friends become inspired and decide not to write about poop. After some careful consideration, they decide to make a sequel to Super Diaper Baby where the main antagonist is made of pee. Thinking Mr. Krupp would be proud of their next epic novel, Mr. Krupp finds it even more offensive than their previous story and becomes furious. In the detention room with busy work yet again, George and Harold say to the reader that as usual, they hope we like it better than Mr. Krupp.
The Adventures of Dog Man: World's Greatest Cop[]
The behind the scenes foreword is a recap of the entire Captain Underpants series, from when George and Harold first met to their creation of Captain Underpants and the misadventures that follow, leading up to the point where everything is back to normal. George and Harold wake up to find that their doubles from the slight future, Yesterday George and Yesterday Harold along with Tony, Orlando, and Dawn, are gone. They search in their tree house, but find some of their old Dog Man comics and have a good laugh. Harold feels that he and George should make another Captain Underpants comic book, but George decides that he and Harold should do a comic book featuring Dog Man, hence this book.
Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie[]
Two fourth-grade friends and next-door neighbors named George Beard (Kevin Hart) and Harold Hutchins (Thomas Middleditch) are the pranksters at their school, Jerome Horwitz Elementary School in the city of Piqua, Ohio. They excessively pull numerous pranks on the cruel teachers, many of which are directed at their bitter principal, Mr. Benjamin "Benny" Krupp (Ed Helms), putting the two at odds with him. The duo also create comic books about an imaginary superhero named Captain Underpants (also voiced by Ed Helms), who fights crime in a pair of underwear and a cape. They distribute these to their schoolmates through a comic company called Treehouse Comix Inc., located in their treehouse.
George and Harold's pranks come to an apparent end after they're caught tampering with a toilet invention, the Turbo Toilet 2000, made by the school's intelligent and local snitch and intellectual, Melvin Sneedly (Jordan Peele), on video. Finally having solid proof of the boys' antics, Mr. Krupp excitedly prepares to annihilate their friendship by putting them in separate classes.
To prevent this, George hypnotizes Mr. Krupp with a 3D Hypno Ring he received out of a cereal box. The boys see that Mr. Krupp bears an odd resemblance to Captain Underpants without his toupee and command him to be Captain Underpants. The boys soon learn the severity of their actions when "Captain Underpants" begins causing problems around Piqua. To prevent these issues, the boys take him to their treehouse, where they discover that they can turn Captain Underpants back into Mr. Krupp by splashing water on him and can turn him back into Captain Underpants by snapping their fingers.
Knowing that Mr. Krupp will continue trying to separate them, they decide to settle with Captain Underpants but insist that he be dressed up as Mr. Krupp under the pretense of a "secret identity," to which Captain Underpants agrees. His sudden personality change even manages to attract the attention (and affection) of the school's shy lunch lady, Edith (Kristen Schaal). Just when George and Harold believe that their troubles have ended, Jerome Horwitz Elementary School is visited by an odd, German-accented scientist named Professor Pee-Pee Diarrheastein Poopypants, Esq. (Nick Kroll), or as he calls himself, Professor P (who is pretending to be a nice school teacher). Captain Underpants (disguised as Mr. Krupp) hires him to be the new science teacher, but George and Harold are suspicious of him due to his violent and short-tempered attitude, as well as his resume's content.
As it turns out, Poopypants is seeking to get rid of laughter altogether, resenting the people who have made fun of his name for years. He recruits Melvin to help him, as he discovers (after reading a comic book George and Harold made featuring characters resembling them) that Melvin's brain makes him incapable of laughing or having fun. Professor Poopypants teams up with Melvin (who is secretly his assistant) to take over the world after scanning his brain in his evil lair.
Captain Underpants, George and Harold have a plan to make Jerome Horwitz Elementary School fun again. As the first step of their plan, George and Harold made Captain Underpants conduct the 1812 Overture, with whoopee cushions to reboot the school. As the second step, they open the art room. For the third step, Captain Underpants sets up a funfair at the schoolyard, However, Harold and George have to keep watch of Captain Underpants as most of the games involve water. Mr Krupp is snapped into Captain Underpants back and forth as the boys would try to keep track of him due to the shenanigans taking place. As it starts to rain, Captain Underpants is back into an angry Krupp. Mr. Krupp finally separates the boys, which causes their plan to fail due to Professor Poopypants's reign of terror.
Professor Poopypants tries to take over the town with a giant version of the Turbo Toilet 2000, fueled by the school cafeteria's rotten leftovers left out by Edith and uses Melvin's brain to turn the children into glum, humorless zombies. George and Harold are caught by Mr. Krupp but to stop Professor Poopypants, the boys had no choice but to snap Krupp into Captain Underpants once again. Captain Underpants tries to stop the villain, but due to having no actual superpowers, is effortlessly defeated and thrown into the toilet. George and Harold are captured and nearly turned into zombies, but are able to escape after Professor Poopypants mentions the planet Uranus, causing the boys to laugh and damage the Turbo Toilet 2000's computer, restoring the children back to normal. Upon consuming the mutated leftovers, Captain Underpants acquires superpowers and, with George and Harold's help, defeats and shrinks Poopypants. Professor Poopypants easily escapes on a bee while the Turbo Toilet 2000 is sent to the junkyard for scrap.
Meanwhile, George and Harold destroy the Hypno Ring while bidding their final farewell to Captain Underpants in an attempt to permanently change him back to Mr. Krupp. Feeling that Mr. Krupp would be nicer if he had friends, the boys set him and lovesick Edith up on a date, thus making Mr. Krupp have a change of heart. Krupp returns the comics he took away from George and Harold, and even admits their comics are funny. However, the toxic waste from the Turbo Toilet 2000 transforms all the toilets into an army of Talking Toilets which attack the restaurant at which Mr. Krupp and Edith are dining. Mr. Krupp and Edith notice a toilet eating a guest and as Mr. Krupp calls for a waiter to get a check in hopes of leaving, upon snapping his fingers accidentally, Mr. Krupp once again becomes Captain Underpants, carrying George and Harold away to help him fight them, much to Edith's surprise and admiration
The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants[]
Harold appears much the same as does in the books and film. Even though "So Good" is his catchphrase, it often gets stolen by other characters. He only gets annoyed when Melvin does it though.
In Captain Underpants and The Flustering Mindless Woe of the Flushable Memory Wipes, he hides with George after their butts get smeared with pudding. Later, he and George work together to restore Captain Underpants. During the episode, it is revealed he likes to watch Dr. Blame (an obvious parody of Dr. Phil), but pretends it's his mom who watches it.
In the Halloween special, Harold discovers that his mother has a crush on Mr. Meaner. This revelation gives him a horrific blank stare for a long time.
Personality[]
Harold, like his best friend George, is a class clown and loves to pull pranks. However, Harold is a bit more timid than George so he usually comes up with their prank ideas. Ironically, Harold is a bit bolder when it comes to fighting monsters. Despite his pranking nature, most of Harold's actions are generally targeted towards adult cruelty, such as his teachers. His other hobbies are skateboarding, watching TV, and making comic books with George, where he draws the pictures. He has created comic book characters like Captain Underpants, Super Diaper Baby, Timmy the Talking Toilet, Dog Man, Ook and Gluk, and the Amazing Cow Lady. He is shown to be caring as in "The Vexing Vile of The Villiany Vimpire", he says he hopes Captain Underpants was okay.
In the ninth book, it is revealed that he was once a quiet child and a bit shy following his parents' recent divorce. He started to come out of his shell when he met his best pal, George. He also appears to be a bit more reluctant when it comes to George's can-do attitude.
Appearance[]
Harold is an 11-year-old blonde-haired boy with a large, fluffy hairstyle. His outfit usually consists of a T-shirt and shorts. Like most human characters, he has black dots for eyes, while in puppetry scenes in The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, he is depicted as having heterochromia (green on the left and blue on the right).
In Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, Harold's shirt is striped green and grey, his shorts are brown, and his slip-on shoes are light blue.
In The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, he wears a fully striped light green and dark green shirt, blue shorts, and a pair of black converse sneakers. He also wears a pencil on his right ear, like other people do.
