なんか知らんけど、Sea Shepherd の運営状況について意外な結果が公表されたっぺぇ。
・Sea Shepherd Awarded Coveted 4-Star Charity Rating by Leading Charity Evaluator（2009年8月20日 Sea Shepherd）

元は、米国の NGO・NPO とかの運営状況について調査・報告を行ってる Charity Navigator が公表したもの。
NGO・NPO などに寄付をしたい人達が、公表した各団体の運営状況とかを踏まえて寄付先を・・・というのが狙いらしい。


で、Charity Navigator の調査では以下 2つが問われることになる（結構適当）。

・団体に寄付された資金を有効に使ってるか（本来の活動以外における行動で無駄な支出がないか）
・寄付などの収入と支出のバランス（支出÷収入の割合）

ただ、この判断基準については、会計とかをチョロまかせばどうとでもなりそうだが・・・（特に前者）。
ちなみに、評価結果は星 1つから星 4つまでの 4段階。
先程述べた2つの結果を総合した奴が、最終結果となる。


で、肝心の Sea Shepherd の評価について、Charity Navigator のサイト（正確には web魚拓だが）から、2007年分の財政状況とともに引用しておく。

2007年は結構収入が多かった年だったようで・・・。
しかし、Charity Navigaton のデータだと、流石に寄付とかの収入の内訳についてはわからないけどな。
ま、寄付を誰がどれだけやったかについては、別のサイトで検索をってところなんだろうけど・・・。

ちなみに、Sea Shepherd の総帥こと Paul Watson 船長が2007年にもらった役員報酬は 91,500 米$。
Watson 船長がこんなに報酬をもらえるなら、俺も NGO 立ち上げようかな（無理）。


そして、この結果発表を受けて、当の Watson 船長は喜びを隠せなかった模様。

「調査捕鯨」団や日本政府にしてみると、なんで Sea Shepherd みたいな「エコテロリスト」にこんなに寄付が集まるんだよ、って所だろうか？
こうなったら、Sea Shepherd に寄付する人達にこう警告するしか？
