Gopal (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the New Jersey State Senate to represent District 11. He won in the general election on November 7, 2023.
Biography
Gopal earned his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University. His professional experience includes owning a business and serving on the Board of Directors of the Northern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce. In 2010, he was elected to a three-year term as president of the Hazlet Business Owners Association.[1]

The filing deadline for the primary election was April 3, 2017.[2][3] Vin Gopal (D) defeated incumbent Jennifer Beck (R) in the New Jersey State Senate District 11 general election.[4][5]

2011
Gopal was a candidate for District 11 of the New Jersey General Assembly. He was defeated in the November 8 general election. He and Marilyn Schlossbach ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. However, Hurricane Irene affected Schlossbach's business, and she withdrew from the race. She was replaced on the Democratic ticket by Kathleen Horgan.[7]
Caroline Casagrande and Mary Pat Angelini ran unopposed in the Republican primary. In addition, Daniel Jacobson ran for the seat as an Independent.[8]
