Campaign themes

Dudley answered the following about his campaign in a July 2014 interview with the Columbia Daily Herald:[1]

How would you characterize the current relationship between school board and county commission? What would you do to maintain or change it?
The relationship is better than it has been in the past. Try to educate the commission to the fact that properly funding the school system will help move the county forward.

What do you believe is he most pressing issue facing the school board and how would you address it?
The lack of funding for the replacement of Central High School and funds needed to maintain our other facilities continue to be a drain on the school system. Continue asking the commission for the needed funds.

How effective do you believe Eddie Hickman has been as the schools director? Explain.
He is doing a good job. Considering the constant changes in our educational system required by the Federal and State Educational Systems, and the lack of sufficient Funding from the County Commission he has a tough job. [2]
