Tom Hackbarth (Republican Party) was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 31B. Hackbarth assumed office in 1999. Hackbarth left office in 2017.

Hackbarth is a former Republican member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 31B from 1999 to 2017. Hackbarth served in the House prior to that, representing District 48A from 1995 to 1997.
Biography
Now retired, Hackbarth's professional experience includes working as an automotive parts salesman for Brookdale Ford.[1]

Elections for the Minnesota House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 12, 2014, and a general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3, 2014. J.D. Holmquist was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Tom Hackbarth was unopposed in the Republican primary. Hackbarth defeated Holmquist in the general election.[6][7][8]

Hackbarth won re-election in the 2012 election for Minnesota House of Representatives District 31B. He was unopposed in the Republican primary on August 14 and defeated Louise Fay Woodberry (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[9][10]

Taxpayers League of Minnesota
The Taxpayers League of Minnesota, a Minnesota-based taxpayer advocacy organization, releases a legislative scorecard for the Minnesota House of Representatives and Minnesota State Senate once a year. The scorecard gives each legislator a score based on how they voted in the prior legislative term on tax issues and “their efforts to balance the state budget without a tax increase.” The organization also compiles a legislator’s individual "Lifetime Score."[14]
