John Petersburg (Republican Party) is a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 19B. He assumed office on January 3, 2023. His current term ends on January 7, 2025.
Petersburg (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Minnesota House of Representatives to represent District 19B. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
On January 10, 2024, Petersburg announced he would not seek re-election to the Minnesota House of Representatives District 19B.[1]
Biography
John Petersburg earned a B.S. in public administration and paralegal from the University of Minnesota at Mankato in 1997. Petersburg's career experience includes working as a church administrator with Trinity Lutheran Church, a farmer, and a production supervisor with Marcon Coatings.[2][3] He has served on the board of the Minnesota School Board Association and as the treasurer of the Southeast Minnesota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.[4]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3, 2014. Beverly Cashman was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent John Petersburg was unopposed in the Republican primary. Petersburg defeated Cashman in the general election.[9][10][11]
