Elections for the Alabama House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014; a runoff election took place where necessary on July 15, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 7, 2014. Incumbent John W. Rogers, Jr. defeated Patrick Sellers in the Democratic primary. Phillip Bahakel was unopposed in the Republican primary. Rogers then defeated Bahakel in the general election.[1][2][3][4][5]

2012

Bahakel ran for a seat on the Jefferson County District Court. He was defeated by William Alan Summers, Jr. in the Democratic primary on March 13, 2012, receiving 30.12% of the vote.[6][7]

Bahakel ran for election to the Alabama's 10th Judicial Circuit Court in 2010. He was defeated by Agnes Chappell in the primary election.[9][10]

Education

Bahakel received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in 1976 and his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Stamford University in 1981.[11]

Career

Bahakel served as a family court district judge for the Jefferson County District Court in Alabama from January 2001 to 2007. He previously ran a solo law practice from 1981 to 2001. In 2007, he began work with the law firm of Phillip Bahakel & Associates.[12]
