- An individual’s day in court is likely one of the most intimidating experiences of their lives. Therefore, I believe judges have a duty to treat anyone who comes before their court with the utmost respect.
- I have dedicated my legal career to representing some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community, helping them navigate our legal system so they can achieve better outcomes for themselves and their families. Through my years of experience and deep roots in Bexar County, I have developed an extensive knowledge of the issues our neighbors face. On the bench, I will leverage my commitment, dedication and expertise to serving the people of Bexar County.
- The greatest challenge facing our court system is how the courts will manage increased amounts of litigation and case volume due to the explosive population growth in Bexar County. The court closures during the pandemic have already created a backlog of cases, and population growth will cause greater backlogs. We need to address this issue head-on by advocating for and securing more resources for the court and by implementing efficiency measures to ensure that justice is administered swiftly and effectively.
As the former Director of the Legal Department of Family Violence Prevention Services, I believe that our community has a responsibility to continue to address the high rates of domestic violence in Bexar County. I plan to work with community partners to advance initiatives to ensure that victims achieve safety.
