John Eichelberger (Republican Party) was a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, representing District 30. He assumed office in 2007. He left office on November 30, 2018.
Eichelberger (Republican Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional District. He lost in the Republican primary on May 15, 2018.
Eichelberger (b. September 1, 1958) is a former Republican member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, representing District 30 from 2007 to 2018.
When he served in the state Senate, Eichelberger had served as a county commissioner for Blair County since 1996.
Biography
Eichelberger earned his B.A. in political science from Pennsylvania State University in 1985. When he served in the state Senate, Eichelberger owned and worked at his insurance agency when the Senate chamber was not in session.

Elections for the Pennsylvania State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in that election was March 11, 2014. Incumbent John Eichelberger was unopposed in the Republican primary. Eichelberger was unchallenged in the general election.[1][2][3]
2010
Eichelberger won re-election to District 30 of the Pennsylvania State Senate. He was unopposed in the May 18 Republican primary and faced no opposition in the November 2 general election.[4]

Noteworthy events
In 2009, the issue of gay marriage arose in a debate with another state senator. Eichelberger said the government "allows" same-sex couples "to exist." Shortly afterward, 30 people representing multiple gender-based groups made their way to Eichelberger's office expecting an apology.
At the time, Eichelberger was sponsoring a constitutional amendment to define marriage as only between a man and a woman. According to Eichelberger, when asked for an apology: "I think you know my answer to that."[7]
