John DeBerry Jr. (Democratic Party) was a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, representing District 90. He assumed office in 1994. He left office on November 3, 2020.
DeBerry (independent) ran for re-election to the Tennessee House of Representatives to represent District 90. He lost in the general election on November 3, 2020. He was disqualified from the Democratic primary scheduled on August 6, 2020.
On April 8, 2020, the Tennessee Democratic Party voted to remove DeBerry from the August 6 primary ballot.[1] A law passed by the Tennessee State Legislature and signed by the governor in June 2020 allowed DeBerry to file as an independent candidate in the general election.[2][3]
Biography
DeBerry graduated from the University of Memphis and Freed-Hardeman University. He works as an executive dealing with marketing, advertising, and public relations.

DeBerry ran in the 2012 election for Tennessee House of Representatives, District 90. DeBerry defeated Ian L. Randolph and incumbent Jeanne D. Richardson in the August 2 primary election. He was unchallenged in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[10][11]

DeBerry won re-election to the 90th District seat in 2010. He was unopposed in the August 5 primary.[12] He also faced no opposition in the general election on November 2, 2010.[13]
