James Martin is a former member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 42 from 2014 to 2019. Martin passed away on May 31, 2019.[1]
Biography
Martin's professional experience included working as coroner for Chilton County and co-owning Martin Funeral Home. Martin was a member of the Alabama Funeral Directors Association and served on the board of directors for the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce.[2]

Elections for the Alabama House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014; a runoff election took place where necessary on July 15, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 7, 2014. James Martin defeated incumbent Kurt Wallace in the Republican primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[3][4][5][6]
