Incumbent Berry Forte was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Jerry McGilvray was unopposed in the Republican primary. Forte defeated McGilvray in the general election.[1][2][3][4]

Forte and John McGowan defeated Joseph C. Newton in the primary, and Forte defeated McGowan in the primary runoff. He then defeated Joyce L. Perrin in the November 2 general election.[5][6]
