I am Christopher Huff, and I am proud to announce my candidacy to serve as your representative. A devoted Christian, conservative Republican, and a father to three wonderful young men, I am deeply rooted in this community. Born and raised in Hermitage, with my parents Mike and Shearin Waller, I am the youngest of 4, I have a older sister Tammie and 2 brothers Tommy and Timmy. I have witnessed the evolution of our neighborhoods from the Bonna's to the Old Hickory Villages, Hermitage Hills, and Donelson. My love for this community has fueled my desire to give back and serve.
- This Campaign is one of faith in my lord and savior! I have laid it all at his feet and will let him lead me. He has given me a spirit of love for my fellow man and I won’t to help.
- My campaign is designed to help the regular citizens in my district. I want their voices to be heard and the needs for this community to be addressed. we have to address our education needs and put our children first and our parents rights have to be upheld. The school is a place to educate and build a mind for our future. Not indoctrinate. We have to support our law enforcement and all first responders and give them the tools, equipment and personnel to do their jobs accurately and safely. I will fight for each and everyone in my community. Because this seat belongs to you the citizens and not me. I just want the opportunity to take your concerns and make them heard. My word is my bond and I shall not waver.
- This campaign has a plan to recruit new business here and create new jobs for the citizens in district 60. However this community would not be what is today without the ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit our small business community has. It is the backbone and heart of this community. We will be working to expand by this by encouraging more bright and talented people to start a business and help them attain their dreams. We are a community of entrepreneurs and professionals looking to create a better life and future for their families. I support that and my campaign supports that.
I am passionate about education, it is not just for the young it is never to late to learn something new. But our children we have to protect the educational environment they are put in and the parents rights have to always be protected. I am very passionate about Mental Health because we have a drug epidemic and crime exploding in every city in America and, I see it first hand everyday. We have to invest in Mental Health care/ treatment to save lives and reduce crime. I am also passionate about families and protecting the unborn. I am a prolife candidate who will stand for life of the unborn always. I want to reform our adoption system to allow children to be loved by someone right here at home. We have to protect our children.
The Bible and our Constitution and the bill of rights. We the people have to remember these are rights given to us by, “GOD” not man and if we do not use them we will surely lose them. This means all of our rights.
A candidate must always remember we serve at the liberty of the VOTER these positions are not ours. We must always stand for our constituents and listen to there need and act accordingly. We have to interact with the community and protect those who voted you into the position and not ignore them as many politicians do. Also the elected are held to a higher standard than others because they are representing the community and must remain accountable and responsible to all. This is where the Voter has a duty to watch and inspect the elected officials and determine to either vote the candidate out and choose a new candidate or re-elect the current candidate to another term. These seat don’t belong to us they belong to each and every citizen within the district.
I’m a hard worker, a Christian a father of three boys and have raised those children to be men, I have compassion for others and I know right from wrong and I care for my neighbor, I care about the community that, I live in and the people that live in it and I know the importance of a dollar and I know how to treat others and how others wanna be treated.
I believe as an elected official we must address the issues and concerns and the community that elected them. Roads, schools, jobs, hazards and community services and always protect the innocent and vulnerable. Stay connected with the people who elected you and inform them of any and all issues or challenges known that might affect them or their community.
I want my legacy to be one of service and honor. I want to be remembered as a man who loves the lord, with all his heart, all of his body, all of his mind, and all of his soul, and that I love others more than I do myself. I gave all I had for the betterment of others.
A direct link between the governor and the state legislature is crucial for several reasons:
Efficient Policy Implementation The governor's ability to communicate directly with the legislature ensures that policy proposals and initiatives can be discussed, modified, and implemented more efficiently. This direct line of communication helps in addressing issues promptly and avoiding bureaucratic delays.
Coordinated Governance Both the executive and legislative branches need to work together to ensure coherent and coordinated governance. A direct link allows for better alignment of priorities and objectives, leading to more effective and consistent policy-making and administration.
Crisis ManagementDuring emergencies or crises, a direct line of communication between the governor and the legislature is essential for quick decision-making and coordinated response. This can be critical in situations like natural disasters, economic crises, or public health emergencies. Legislative Support for Executive Agenda The governor often relies on the legislature to pass laws that support the executive agenda. Direct communication can help the governor build relationships with legislators, negotiate compromises, and garner the necessary support for key initiatives.
Budget Approval and Fiscal Management The state budget is a crucial area where the governor and legislature must collaborate. A direct link helps in the negotiation and approval of the budget, ensuring that the state's fiscal policies are sound and that funds are allocated appropriately to meet public needs.
Accountability and Transparency Direct interaction between the governor and the legislature promotes accountability and transparency in government operations. Legislators can hold the governor accountable for executive actions, and the governor can ensure that legislative actions align with the state's overall goals.
Building relationships with other legislators is beneficial because it fosters collaboration and trust, which are essential for effective lawmaking. Strong relationships help in negotiating and reaching compromises, garnering support for legislation, and ensuring coordinated efforts to address the needs of constituents. Additionally, positive relationships can enhance communication, reduce conflicts, and create a more productive and cooperative legislative environment.
As a candidate, I hear from many different individuals and the stories are mostly the same.You do have those who are dealing with loss of spouse, children, sicknesses, financial hurdles, and I pray for them all. I take the time to listen the time to talk, and I pray for them, because we have to be compassionate and there are some that are more compelling than others but, I love them all and pray for them all the same. The best medicine for some is just spending a little extra time and let them know they are loved and important!
Tennessee Right to Life
I am very interested in Education and Mental Health. I am interested in the Health Care and Insurance committees also.
I think nothing should be hidden from the public. The government doesn’t exist without it’s people because they don’t create anything of substance other than laws regulations. So the people fund the government and the government has a responsibility to show what they are doing with the peoples money.
