Biography

Carlson received a bachelor's degree in theatre arts from California State University, Sacramento in 2010. His professional experience includes working in puppetry and musical theatre, including the Les Miserables Marius Tour; Gavroche, Berkeley Repertory Theatre Groundfloor Internship, Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Regional Puppetry Workshops, and the counties exhibits at the California State Fair.[1]

“ I dont know what a governor does yet. I could pardon a few people, I could raise taxes or lower them who knows? I will call Gavin Newsom, Arnold Schwarznegger, Jerry Brown and Oprah together as Superfriends to help me through the first three days.[4] ”

“ I want to chill people out a little bit. Everyone's losing their minds. Democracy sucks because people are shitty to each other. "this is what people walking around in a mob chanting looks like"[4] ”

“ Oklahoma City. My old roommate Stu was 1 year old on his way to the courthouse and they found him in his carseat hella far away from the car once the explosion happened. He was a boy who lived.[4] ”

“ I was a child laborer. I paid for college when I was ten singing in a Broadway tour of Les Miserables. My dad canceled my agent during the divorce so I was in regular middle school and AP high.[4] ”
What happened on your most awkward date?
“ On my first date, I forgot to pick a restaurant before the concert and we ended up at the Hard Rock cafe.[4] ”
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
“ 4/21: John Muir's Birthday![4] ”

“ My human geography textbook.[4] ”
If you could be any fictional character, who would you be?
“ HG Wells: Time Traveler[4] ”

“ Brian May designed guitar. Its based on a thing he made with his dad has been playing his whole career with Queen. I'm working on a project with his luthier Andrew Guyton to make a version inspired by the Voyager Spacecraft[4] ”

“ Lorde- Liability (reprise)[4] ”
What is something that has been a struggle in your life?
“ Sugar.[4] ”
A governor is the top executive authority in his or her state. What does that mean do you?
“ They'd better not pretend to have all the answers[4] ”
Governors have many responsibilities, which vary from state to state. Which of those do you personally consider the most important in your state?
“ Learning how fragile the machine of our society is so you don't harm it[4] ”
Different states require governors to have different degrees of responsibility for the state budgeting process. If it were your choice, what do you believe is the appropriate degree of gubernatorial involvement with this process in your state?
“ The CA gov is very popish right now. We are lucky to even get a budget passed so a veto is suicide.[4] ”
In most states, governors have the power to make line-item vetoes. If that is true in your state, what would be your philosophy for how and when to use this power?
“ You can line item veto your contract with an employer, did you know that? Better in Green ink, Yellow? Blue? Red?[4] ”
If the governor's office in your state does not have the line-item veto power, do you believe it should? Why or why not?
“ yeah to teach people to take their governors elections more seriously.[4] ”
What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature?
“ One built on kindness and civility.[4] ”
What do you love most about your state?
“ The Everything is here.[4] ”
What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?
“ We need to figure out growth and start telling people not to come here its messing up our infrastructure. Also less wear on the roads please. Just slow down everybody it will be ok. Also, less meat and commercial ag[4] ”
