Big Ketch Saltwater Grill Closes in Roswell

Southern Proper Hospitality Group, the company behind restaurants like Tin Lizzy’s Cantina, Big Ketch Saltwater Grill, Gypsy Kitchen, and the Southern Gentleman, has closed the Roswell outpost of Big Ketch on Canton Street, as first reported by Tomorrow’s News Today and confirmed by the AJC.

A representative says the group decided not to renew the lease on the Roswell restaurant in order to focus on reopening its remaining restaurants throughout metro Atlanta. This includes attempting to work with the landlord to reopen Tin Lizzy’s at Emory Point. That location remains closed for now.

Southern Proper may have also closed Street Taco at Marietta Square Market, and the East Cobb location of Beni’s Cubano is now closed. Former Southern Proper managing partner Mauricio Diaz owns the downtown Atlanta location of Beni’s Cubano, which is open at Peachtree Center.

Big Ketch plans to reopen in Buckhead for dine-in service on Wednesday, May 20. Six of the nine metro area Tin Lizzy’s locations are now open for dine-in service, including Buckhead, downtown Atlanta, East Cobb, Perimeter, Kennesaw, and Duluth. According to Tin Lizzy’s website, the Grant Park restaurant is currently open for takeout. The Mall of Georgia location is temporarily closed and the Midtown location apparently relocates this summer from Crescent Avenue to the former Princi Italia space on 12th Street.

In addition to Big Ketch, Tin Lizzy’s, Gypsy Kitchen, Street Taco, and Southern Gentleman, Southern Proper Hospitality owns Chido and Padre’s, the Blind Pig, Milton’s Cuisine and Cocktails, and Ocean and Acre.
