Polymer is a resource in ARK: Survival Evolved. It is used to make durable tools, weapons and armor (and a couple other Misc Items).
Overview[]
Polymer is an artificial material crafted at the Fabricator using 2x Obsidian and 2x Cementing Paste.
Organic Polymer, a natural version of Polymer that can be obtained from killing Kairuku, Hesperornis, Mantis, Karkinos, and harvesting bee hives. It can always be used in place of Polymer, but is not as ideal because it has a spoil timer and can only stack up to 20, while regular Polymer can stack up to 100.
Corrupted Nodule is also a natural version of Polymer, found on Extinction. It can be harvested from dead Corrupted Creatures in the Wasteland.
On Ragnarok, however, if you have tamed a Griffin, a really good strategy would be flying over to the beach of the volcano area (with black sand), divebomb a bunch of Mantises, and with the Griffin's fast speeds fly over to your home, and use the Organic Polymer as a substitute for the normal Polymer.

Notes[]
- Polymer is likely ARK: Survival Evolved's version of real life materials like fiberglass and lead, or metal alloys.
- Given how expensive Polymer can be, Only use it when you can (if you live in the mountains or volcano specifically). Organic polymer is a good alternate, and can be found on virtually every map easily.
- Regular polymer can not be used to craft ghillie armor, and cannot be used to tame the moschops.
