I recently found this Medieval image of what I think is the Phoenix Firebird of Mythology, the bird that immolates itself in a fire, then rises from its ashes.

I took those photographs in my yard this past week.
I could not believe my luck to discover that at least one American Goldfinch Pair is frequenting my yard! And that was without having any seed in the bird feeder! (I have since put seed in it.) This couple sings a melodious song, and seems to like hanging around near the house, perhaps feeding on flower seeds.
