...エヴァン・ウィリアムズ対ビル・ゲイツ。エヴは単なるシリアル・アントレプレナーではない。彼はシリアル・ビルダーだ。第一に、彼は「ブロガー」という会社をビルドしただけでなく、ブロギングというまったく新しいメディアをビルドした。そしていま、彼はツイッターという会社を生み出しただけでなく、マイクロブロギングというまたひとつ新しいメディアを生み出そうとしている。両方とも、世界が互いに関わりあう様態をチェンジしてしまった新しい機構体である。ビル・ゲイツはそれと対照で、単なるリーダーだった。彼は普通の企業をひとつつくり、独占企業へと導いた。これはビルダーシップ的見地からすれば全くのブラックホールである。そしていま、皮肉なことだがゲイツは崩れたバランスの是正に取り組んでいて、そのためにどうすれば「よりよい資本主義」をビルドできるかを人々に説いて回る活動をしている。(つづきを読む)

Today, he's spearheading the creation not just of Twitter, the company, but of microblogging ― yet another new medium. Both are new institutions that have changed how the world interacts. Bill Gates, in contrast, was just a leader. He led just another run-of-the-mill corporation to yet another monopoly ― a total black hole of Buildership. Today, ironically enough, Gates is trying to redress the balance, by sparking a debate about how to (wait for it) build a better capitalism...
