fuzzi's Chicken Journal

Okay now we have had snow . Not anything that stuck fortunately.

First frost expected tonight. Will my flock forego the pecking order and allow the lower caste members to get up on the main roost for maximum heat?

Stay tuned...

They do tend to be somewhat agreeable about allowing others to join them in cold weather.

SNOW!! How much did you get?

They can't make up their minds here.

Windy, Gusty, Not, Maybe, Yes it's going to be windy. Not really, just breezy, NOooo, it's going to be still and chilly.

Ooops, no, it's going to be windy, icy and gusty. Well. Maybe windy and some flurries. Nope. Just flurries. No, we changed our mind, icy and windy again. Cold, freezing, gusty, windy, flurries, snow, icy, sleet, we'll cover it all!!

Nope, now it's flurries and gusts...

I will know what it's doing when I go outside thank you very much!

Hilariously accurate! You're hired as my highly qualified weather reporter! We got a dusting of snow last night in lower MI, some flurries throughout the day. Both of which I ascertained by looking out the window

Well, right now it's windy with gusts, I can hear it LOL

As for flurries? Maybe? I saw a blue swath on the radar coming from the higher elevations heading my way, but who knows it may break up.

I do know it was icy in the higher elevations today, nothing surprising there, that's normal weather. I just feel for the folks that are living in tents up there.

What is the outlook like for the roads and rebuilding right now?
They are working on the roads, it's so widespread, it will take time.

I think I read the width of the path was something like 350 miles, so like for 500 miles (length) it's that wide?
I can believe it.

Anyway. Even here there's bridges still out, you have to detour, some roads are closed and they have dozed onto old fire roads or trails to get into some places.

I think most all people have been reached and have some kind of way out now.

Rebuilding, that will take years. That's still being worked on in some areas (the logistics). Some people's land is just gone. But many are working on cleanout and rebuilding where it's possible.
