Cons: Hard to find any color other than the speckled variety.
I have just loved this breed of chicken. I got my first light Sussex about a decade ago and am currently looking for a breeder to obtain more in the spring. They have been my friendliest birds along with my Delaware and Dorkings. I will always have them in my flock from this point forward.
My legbar hen is a sweet, goofy head of the pecking order. While she isn't too keen on being picked up, she likes to follow me around and keep an eye on my "chickie chores". She's very vocal and will let me know EXACTLY what she thinks about everything. Her combover and eyebrows make her look like a muppet.
My bantam cochin Mouse is the highlight of my flock. She will follow me around and coo and cuddle when I pick her up. Their bug fluffy butts are absolutley adorable, I could watch her run around all day.
Cons: wood is cheap and thin, cracks when you screw it together.
Many pieces were broken when we received our coop. It took 4 months of back and forth telling them about all the issues with each piece number to get them to send me the missing/broken pieces. Finally, after 2 months they promised to send me all 8 pieces that were broke, instead they sent me a single piece.
I emailed them after I received it and no answer. It's like talking to a wall.
