Jimmy Collins is portrayed by Jeremy Jordan ('Newsies,' 'Bonnie and Clyde,' and 'Finding Neverland.') Jimmy is a 24-year-old adult living in a small apartment with his best friend Kyle Bishop. Jimmy meets Karen at a bar in the city where he works in On Broadway. It’s here that Karen first hear him sing Broadway, Here I Come! Jimmy has a history with drugs and still has a problem as seen in "The Song" when he gets high after running away from the show. Kyle tells Karen "Jimmy has a trigger." and explains that Jimmy will disappear for hours or even days if something goes wrong. Jimmy is writing a broadway musical with Kyle and is very protective of his songs and does not want to share them. After Kyle gives Karen one of his songs, Jimmy runs out of the room and accuses them of stealing his song, and then tells them to leave. Eventually, though he gives Karen the demo because it’s what Kyle wants. Jimmy and Kyle eventually get a meeting with Derek to try and get the show up and running and finally have their work pay off. They go through the play and find a part is missing. They realize the missing part is in Jimmy's notebook, which he left at his brother's house. The last time he was there his brother stole 8 grand from Jimmy. He gets injured but ends up finding the part and he heads to find Kyle and give him the act. Jimmy then tracks down his brother again and demands to be repaid the stolen money. Jimmy ends up getting cash from Derrick and they start to get along. Adam (Jimmy's Brother) is a drug dealer who used to live on the streets with Jimmy after his mother died and his father kicked them out. Adam starts dating Karen's friend, Ana, and invites him to the opening night performance of Bombshell, but Adam gets in a fight with Jimmy after Kyle tells him to get lost.
