Marilyn Musical
Hey Everyone,
First of all I just want to say I loved SMASH. It's my favourite tv show ever. I'm not trying to rip it off as I started my Marilyn Musical entitled 'Blonde' about a year before it started. Anyway! Marilyn: An American Fable
Hi everyone! It just wanted to let you guys know that I have actually just purchased a copy of Marilyn: An American Fable, the 1983 flop Broadway musical! If you have any questions about the show just ask me.
P.S.
The script leaves out a lot of her life. For example: Some Like It Hot &The Misfits are not even mention. Also, there isn't even a death sequence.

SMASH's death
It seems silly to eulogise Smash. The show seemed to make self-loathing an art form. One that it wasn't particularly good at, but occasionally struck magical gold. I've discussed many times about how there wasn't just potential in the series, but in each scene. There was always something brilliant waiting to break out from all the wilted melodrama and whingeing entitlement, but it never got there. And during the second season, it never even got to the glorious camp-ridden heights of the first. I've read many Bombshell scripts here and the truth is most of them are only small dialogues between the songs. I wanted to know if somebody wrote a REAL script with new scenes that we did not see on SMASH.. I don't know about you, but I still can't belive that Smash is gone... I know that maybe you'll feel that I am saying that Smash is really over because of the title but I just didn't know what to write for it.
And I want to ask why? Why did they toke us the only broadway show? They could easly cancel some of the doctor shows or maybe police stuff, I know that some of people would not like it, but there is many shows about crime and doctors but there WAS only one about broadway and musical. And I will watch season 1 again and season 2 again and again for thausent times because it's so amazing :( :'(

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm said to report, but Smash has been officially cancelled by NBC. We now have only three more episodes left for our favorite show. More news is to come at a later date. Maybe they will change their mind?
SMASH's new low...
This show is nothing compared to what it once was. They keep adding stories that add nothing to the show and nobody could possibly care about. All the characters have the same temperament: short fuse, won't listen to reason and immediately fly off the handle causing DRAMA? It's tiring watching a bunch of imbeciles go through the paces so hopefully we get to see a great tune... which is happening less and less often.
SMASH was INCREDIBLE last year, but it's no wonder that the chance of a season 3 is about 0.01%...

Smash Filming Location?
Does anyone know what theater smash is filming at? Not the exterior shots because that is the lyceum theater, but the actually stage and auditorium they are using? I honestly cannot find it anywhere. I know it has an orchestra section, and one balcony level and a middle aisle but i cant find it anywhere

I made a petition to NBC to try to get them to save the show that we all are obsessed with, SMASH. My goal is, of course, to get enough signatures to get NBC to consider giving the show at least a third season, if not more. I think if all the loyal followers of SMASH band together, we can make a huge impact. So, if you want SMASH to continue, then click the link to the page and add your signature. Bombshell creative team
Does anyone want to form a group and be the creative team for bombshell? As in, write the script but work as a team and put all our ideas together and each write scenes and then we can all give our notes and fix and adjust things? If anyone is interested let me know! Ive read every script posted on here for bombshell and alot of them are so good and i feel like if we all teamed up we could porbably write a majority of the show and share all our ideas. Comment if youre interested!
SAVE-SMASH
We need to start a pettition or link to some facebook pages to show NBC we care about SMASH and to save it. This season is very different from season 1 and I love it, more entertaining and more Broadway esque!.
We need a season 3 cause "The Tonys" as the season (series) finale is good but shouldn't be the last there is still a story they should show. Like how success can change a alter people's personalities and how those effects can contribute negative and positive effects.
Let's all watch SMASH on Saturdays starting April 6 to show NBC that WE CARE about SMASH. Too many Lame drama reality shows we need to chnage it.

Season 2 Speculations
Smash is finally coming back to us tomorrow night, so it's time to put our thinking caps on and see what's going to happen next!
So what happened where did Smash leave off last season? Ellis went crazy and admitted that he had put the peanuts in Rebecca's smoothie, which leads to Eileen kicking him out of the theatre (and an ominous promise that he'll be back)! Derek chose Karen, but everyone is trying to get him to choose Ivy!
While it looks like Ivy might end up getting the role, Karen decides to returns to the stage and sings the new song, Don't Forget Me, an inspirational piece pleading for the audience to remember her story when they know someone who needs help, while images of Marilyn flash in the background. Personaly, I think Karen Cartwright(Katherine McPhee) makes the best Marilyn. Ivy is good but Karen is better at holding back but still giving the audiance a show to remember!
Smash - Season 2
As we know, the show's getting a new showrunner next year, and changes are bound to occur. After a lukewarm reaction to its first season, Smash needs to make a splash in 2013. So, if it were up to me, here is the direction I'd like to see the show take...
Season 2 would pick up two or three years after Season 1 ended. All cliffhangers and story threads from the first season are explained, of course, but we never see their immediate effect. Instead, we're re-introduced to the enitre Smash family a couple years down the line. Everything's refreshed.

NBC Renews Smash for Second Season
Fans of Smash will be happy to know they have a second season to look forward to.
The ratings haven't been absolutely stellar, but they're clearly good enough to get the show a second season. So far it's averaged 7.7 million viewers and has a 2.6 adult demo rating. In addition, Grimm has also been renewed for a second series.

Team Ivy or Team Karen? (And Why?)
Hello, fellow Smashers. As most of you know, there's already a great debate beginning between whether Ivy or Karen is the better choice for Marilyn; or hell, just the overall singer. So, what do you think?
Personally, I'm Team Karen. Yes, Ivy is certainly more talented, but Karen has a vast amount of poetential, and I have a childish, stereotypical faith in her.
So, what about you?
Do you think Smash could become the next Glee?
I know everyone is asking this question, but I just wanted to know what you thought. I personally don't think anything can outdo Glee, but so far Smash has been very entertaining after just one episode. I believe Smash has the ability to dominate the ratings (good thing Smash and Glee are on different nights!) but people immediately asssume they are alike, when really they are totally different, the musical aspect is pretty much their only common trait. I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen next on Smash, it was much better than I thought it would be. What do you guys think?
Gleek, Smasher or Both
There have been many comparisons to the two shows. Both having the similarity of being a musical tv show.
Glee is about the underdog, using stereotypes as the basis of the character and than delving further in, completely breaking it. How hard people who know they are different, have big dreams are excluded and bullied for dreaming big and wanting to be different. SMASH is about what happens when that person makes it to Broadway and discovers that their are hundreds just like them, all trying to make it into the business.
