Sam Strickland is first introduced into the series in The Cost of Art, it is revealed that he and Ivy did Chicago together 10 years ago. He is the only dancer who was nice to Karen off the bat, complimenting on her voice. He even tells Ivy to cut down on being a 'diva' during rehearsals when she is trying to get Karen fired. He was dating Tom Levitt, but they had to end the relationship since he was asked to take a part in the Book of Mormon tour, which he took.
He is a member of the New York City Gay Men's Chorus and is originally from Boston. He is a longtime musician, athlete and loves all sports. He began singing at the age of five and played Division II Football in college.
