Avenger Prime is a repentant variant of Loki who commands the Multiversal Avengers from the God Quarry. He used to have legions of Deathloks serving him though nearly all of them have been slain.[3] He is based at Avengers Mountain,[4] formerly Avengers Tower.[1]
History
This Loki's history is very different from other Lokis' in the Multiverse. An accident caused his brother Thor to die early in childhood, which allowed him to easily supplant his father as ruler of Asgard. He felt empty afterward so he sought the counsel of other Lokis, only to discover that they were despicable losers who were constantly thwarted by the Avengers. In every universe he visited, it was Loki who caused the modern Avengers to assemble. He returned to his reality and did all he could to ensure no Avenger would ever rise. However, this meant that Loki himself had to deal with cosmic threats that emerged over the years. Although Loki was triumphant, the cost of his magic wiped out all life in his universe. Alone, he committed suicide.[3]
Loki woke up in the God Quarry. He prayed to it for his end but the Quarry summoned Avengers from all over the Multiverse instead, who helped him build Avengers Tower. Realizing it was his duty to gather the mightiest Avengers, he repented his past crimes and stayed hidden in the Tower for eons as Avenger Prime.[3] Occasionally, other lost souls fell into the God Quarry; Loki resurrected them as Deathloks and employed them as marshals for all space and time.[1]
While monitoring the Multiverse and timestream, Avenger Prime sent his Deathloks to investigate a chronal collapse but they were slaughtered by the Multiversal Masters of Evil.[1] The remaining Deathloks warned other realities of the incoming threat and recruited members for Avenger Prime's army. Earth by Earth fell, and virtually all of the Deathloks were killed, though with Robbie Reyes' help, many Avengers were recruited.[5][6]
As the Masters were about to attack Earth-616's prehistory, Avenger Prime decided to visit it personally, but was captured by Mephisto and the Council of Red.[7][3] The Mephistos were after the God Quarry, specifically the First Firmament beneath it, and the Masters were tools to weaken the barrier. They launched an attack on the Quarry but were repelled by Avenger Prime's army, freeing him. Almost immediately after this, Doom Supreme launched his own attack on the Quarry with an army of Doctor Doom variants, destroying Avengers Tower.[8] Avenger Prime called in Earth-616's Avengers and prehistoric Avengers as reinforcements.[3] Avenger Prime dueled Doom Supreme, a colossal Mephisto appeared, and Avenger Prime called in more reinforcements, including one of his Deathloks who uploaded himself into Avengers Mountain.[9][10]
After the God Quarry was breached,[11] the power of the First Firmament started leaking through, threatening to destroy the entire Multiverse. The Avengers quickly dealt with the remaining evil forces and turned their full attention into plugging the hole. Avenger Prime stated that nothing could plug it from the Multiverse side, so Robbie Reyes went through the hole and sealed it from the other side. A Phoenix and a Starbrand sacrificed themselves to fix all the Earths the Masters had ravaged, although many Avengers chose to stay by Avenger Prime's side. He continued leading the Multiversal Avengers at Avengers Mountain, now in the God Quarry.[4]Attributes

Notes
- Avenger Prime is said to have stayed at his Avengers Tower for "eons,"[7][3] but it does not show up in previous appearances of the God Quarry.[13][14] The Cosmic Coven, the Quarry's previous guardians, are nowhere to be seen in Avenger Prime's backstory.[3] However, the Quarry is stated to be beyond space and time,[9] where Avenger Prime can monitor the timestream,[1] so it is possible that eons have indeed passed in the God Quarry since the Witches self-immolated in Infinity Wars.
Trivia
- As a supervisor of the timestream, Avenger Prime has come into conflict with Kang the Conqueror. His Deathloks attacked one of Kang's Oracle Bases. Kang declared he will deal with Avenger Prime later.[15]
