Shinya Makio (巻緒慎也, Makio Shinya) is the leader of the Night Troop's combat unit. He is especially suited for combat, in terms of offense, defense, and coordinating comrades in effective strategies. When included in a team, he is usually the team leader. Makio is sent, along with Todoroki and Takemitsu, to provide support for the defenders of Karasumori after Tokine is rescued from Guillotine Island.

Appearance

He has messy dark hair and wears a long trenchcoat. He usually wears a serious expression on his face.

Personality

He seems rather reserved, resolute, and serious. He is usually frowning, but does show a cheerful side at times.

Powers & Abilities

Jiugenka: Shadow Manipulation: Makio is a Jiugenka user, and has the ability to manipulate shadows. This generally takes the form of multiple tentacles that emerge from the ground around him. The tentacles constrict around foes until they break apart.

Trivia

• 'Maki' (巻) means roll (as in cloth), 'o' (緒) means cord or strap, 'shin' (慎) comes from the word 'shinchou' (慎重 ), which means careful and cautious.
