GOOD MORNING LADIES!
First, I wanted to mention that THE way
of posting using HTML doesn't work any
more (for me any way)...it was working
Sunday.
The "Good News" is: the other way works...
I hope it works for a while.
I have to admit...I don't like change.
If it is working for us, don't change it,
PLEASE!
My little cottage wanna-be needs a new
roof/shingles.
Every one we talk to, states to consider
a "Metal Roof!"
I said, "A metal roof? You mean like
on an old barn" I love rusty things and
pictures of rusty things but not a rusty
roof. We would get thrown out of the
neighborhood for sure.
I actully thought my husband was
trying to save a boat-load of money and
had bought the metal from a barn being
tore down...wink, wink, rolling eyes...oh, but
he would.
I began to research metal roof's
on-line.
WOW!
1. They are guaranteed to last at least
50 years....hmmm...I'll be 58 in May
and add the 50 year roof...108...I won't
be here...it will outlast me.
2. It with-stands 120 mph winds...Okla
has many tornadoes and high straight
winds.
3. It will make your house cooler
4. It doesn't allow the 40 inches of snow
to build up or cave in your roof.
5. IT IS FIREPROOF
I was impressed the more I read about
it.
The roof's come in colors.
It is more expensive than shingles but
cheaper than tile or slate.
We are going to get an estimate.
Whatever we choose I will film the
progress.
Our little house is needy. It has soooo
very many things needing to be fixed,
as I am sure
we all do.
The roof is the biggie. I know
that will be a chunk of money.
The ceiling has
leaked in two places and left an ugly
brown stain.
IF ANY OF YOU KNOW ANYONE
OR ANYTHING ABOUT METAL ROOF'S...
PLEASE LET ME KNOW...GOOD OR BAD
AND I WILL THANK YOU FOREVER!
The Scripture for today:
Let us therefore make every effort to do
what leads to peace and to mutual
edification.
~ROMANS 14:19
St. Paul calls us to succeed at living
in peace and building up one another in
the Christian faith and life. He reminds
us that doing what leads to peace and
mutual edification doesn't just happen.
We need the power God has given us to
do good and help put forth the effort to do
good.
Strengthed by His word, the Holy Spirit,
and JESUS, we pay attention to what
people need and intentionally do the things
that lead to peace and the building up of
others. This is our precious God at work in
the lives of believers.
Praying for each of you and I cherish
your prayers said for me.
Find beauty in the day.
We may get ice tomorrow...Oklahoma needs
moisture...no matter how beautiful
the ice can look...our home except for the
dryer
and hot water tank...is electric.

There are a lot of them just North of us, Debbie. They are great for snow and last forever. However, as you say, the cost is quite a bit higher. We were going to put one on this house but there were so many angles and places where different roof levels meet up that they didn't want to do it. I will be glad to see what you end up doing. I love a metal roof. My gramma had one and I used to love to open the door to the attic when it was raining outside. It was a wonderful sound. xo Diana
I don't know about metal roofs but they sound good. I doubt they would let us have one here though. Good luck!
Hi Debbie, our son has one and it is beautiful. Not like the rusty ones you mentioned. Yes they are expensive but would not have the wind damage or loss of tiles like the others. Will enjoy seeing your project.

You are soooo funny! I love your RUSTY MUSE!
In Tennessee they have metal roofs everywhere. My favs are the black and chocolate brown ones with matching shutters. SWEET!
You know what girl...you have blessed me since the day we met. You are such a dear soul and I adore you.
Love, Rebecca
Everyone here is doing them and that's what we are going to do when we need to. 50 years! Yeah, we will be gone, too, by the time it goes. They look really good and there are so many colors!
Go light- it reflects the heat in the summer and the house will be so much cooler!
I have heard nothing bad about them at all.
I think its a no brainer. Let me know if you find anything out otherwise!
The look of metal roofs has really grown on me! I do see quite a few of them, and while I don't have any info on them, it sounds like a good investment!
Deb I am glad to see all is well.. and you are in your little home.. I know nothing of metal roofs but sure would love the have one.. take god care.. I no longer have my little lucky but now have a Bentley and Chuck... :D
I'm glad that you came around after you had read more about metal roofs! They are picking up steam as a trend these days, because of how durable and light they are. They do hold up against harsh weather better than some other roof types, and considering how crazy the weather has been in the past 5 years alone, we need as much protection at home as we can get!

I love metal roofs!
I hope you're enjoying the pitter patter of rain under yours!
Oh wow. I bookmarked the Flea Market Gardening site. For some reason I thought it was a book and not a website!
I'm excited to peruse it. Thanks for the tip!
I hope you are well!
