GETTING BACK INTO THE STUDIO

I've worked so long at having a booth and now that I no longer have it I've struggled a bit to really get back into my studio and focus!  I've been so used to being busy, busy, BUSY with full-on retail that settling down my mind has been a bit of a challenge.

It's so strange how you can slip right out of the groove of creating.
I've just been busy with life and then sometimes I forget the ongoing affection I have for working with thread and needle will never truly go away.

Nor will my love for painting!

I'm so thankful to be back doing what I love without the pressure of displaying and stocking a large booth.

It's funny though how you get out of a routine if you're not careful.

But...life indeed moves us forward and these days I work with a different kind of intensity and purpose.  I just love making something from vintage fabric finds, snippets of  old lace and forgotten fragments saved from another's life...

Working with my hands is so rewarding.
Sometimes change is hard.

Really hard.

Giving up my booth (and it's fabulous location in the shoppe) was tough.

Still...I knew it was the right thing to do.

In the Spring (thinking far ahead here!) my Mr. AGP Man is going to turn our small storage shed in the far east corner of our backyard into a painting studio for me.

I'm very excited about what I hope will be a very inviting space!
I've found it's just too difficult to try and paint (I can be messy) inside my current studio that houses sweet fabrics and trims!  Time to rethink my work space(s).

So...whatever is going on in your life...don't give up on YOU or those dreams spinning around in your head!

If you're like me, sometimes I just have to take time to refill my empty "heart and head" with fresh inspiration and then adjust my thought process in order to get through the tough days that sometimes crash into my life!

Blessings to you today as you make your way through the your own winding path...

Love to you...

Rebecca

Rebecca your posts are always so thought provoking and I identify so much with what you have been and are now walking through. Having health challenges and issues causes us to totally rethink our priorities and how we spend our time. I've learned that it's so important to give time to our creative endeavors. It all takes time, and is so hard when you're not able to do the things that give us such joy. I love to see what you're creating, and actually it's nice to not have the pressure on us. Please keep sharing your thoughts and creations. xoxo

Rebecca,

I LOVE this pillow! But most of all the reason is not only because it is beautifully made, but the verse on it! It is a wonderful Christmas list! Thank you for sharing!

Oh how that speaks to my heart at this time of my life. We all have difficulties in our life that we don't talk about. This is so encouraging and uplifting to me. Thank you so much Rebecca. Have a wonderful day! God Bless!

Rebecca, you have such a thoughtful outlook and your words always impress. I have loved your talents for some time and I am so glad that you are finding the time to get back to them. I don't think our lives that we are sometimes forced to live ever really get in the way of our hearts desires but they do often make us put them away someplace every so often. Having studio space will be a great help, if you are like me, and the messiness gets away from us. I love that pillow and the quote, words to live by any time of the year. I do some art, but certainly not with the ability that you do, but it is relaxing for me and I used to sell as well but now it is just for fun and relaxation. My sweet hubby asks what I am going to do with all of it, and I just say enjoy my time with it..Glad to see you back..Happy Thursday..xxoJudy

I love to do needlepoint and am currently working on Christmas stockings I design and make from scratch for my fiancees daughter, her hubby and hr new daughter, 2 months old! Everyone in my family has one! I have also made for other people and sold for $25 each, which all my friends say is too low! I just enjoy it. I am glad you will soon have a new creative space.

Dearest Rebecca,
You are really back in swing and how poetic you phrased: 'and forgotten fragments from another's life... '
So true and no doubt, many times someone from heaven will be smiling down when they see what your hands are touching and creating with their fragments!
Did reply on my post to your comment about this brave young lady. What a battle she is fighting. Life is not always easy to a number of us; her donor lungs appear to have given up almost under the pressure of the fungus Aspergillus that is growing inside them...
We don't think about us, inhaling and being strong and healthy but they constantly have had to fight the rejection of the donor lungs and weakening thus their natural immune system.
Both of us know how hard such fungus are to knock down and even worse inside your lungs...
Prayers can help her and for the rest, it is all in Gods hands. She cannot talk right now due to the trach. How awful that must feel and writing she can't either as her hands are weak and shaking.
We all have pity on ourselves at times but reading such a struggle and seeing the strong Faith of a young person makes us very humble.
Big hugs,
Mariette

Anyone as talented as you are Rebecca will never lose the motivation, I call this taking a breather, Once the new place is built the excitement will return and creative juices will flow so heavily that you will be looking for extra time. ~smile~
Looking forward to your creations, I have always wanted to paint, but wasn't given this talent, though I have two children who are, so I get to admire their creations of and very talented people like you.
Blessings,
Sue

Hi Rebecca, happy to see you are blogging - you were missed. I read through your posts describing your ordeal these past few years. I am very happy you have recovered and are getting back to your creativity. Closing your booth must have been difficult but when one door closes another one opens. With your strong faith I have no doubt this is the beginning of another chapter and many blessings to come your way. I look forward to seeing your creations. Keep the faith and keep smiling.

Rebecca,

From so long ago, way before your accident and through your recovery, I'm still here, still admiring your exquisite work and wishing you well. I hope time and this dreadful Shadow on our country have not touched you, and that you are in your studio with all those laces and papers and beautiful things to surround you. Life has gone on, subtracted and added, and we are still keeping at home and watching all the safety measures. I'd love to hear from you if you'd like to e-mail:
