XOXOXOXO...AMY...XOXOXOXO
FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
9:02 AM
THE DEAD BLAST OF A FERTILIZER
BOMB
KILLED
"168 PRECIOUS SOULS"...
A PRECIOUS CHILD JUST LEFT
AT THE DAY CARE
A MOTHER
A DAD
A BROTHER
AN AUNT
A SISTER
AN UNCLE
A COACH
A DOCTOR
A HUSBAND
A WIFE
I WILL NEVER FORGET THE DAY.
MY HUSBAND WAS SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE
ROD TAKEN OUT OF HIS ARM. IT HAD BEEN
IN HIS ARM FOR 3 YEARS AFTER A TRUCK WRECK.
WE ARRIVED AT THE HOSPITAL ABOUT 9:15 AM
AND EVERYONE...NURSES, DOCTORS, PATIENTS,
WERE ALL STARING AT THE TELEVISION.
WHEN WE LOOKED AT THE TV IT WAS BREAKING
NEWS AND IT SHOWED HALF OF A BUILDING
BLOWN UP. I WENT TO PRAYING BECAUSE I
HONESTLY THOUGHT SOME TERRORIST HAD
FINALLY BLEW UP NEW YORK. I HAD NO IDEA
IT WAS OKLAHOMA CITY...THINGS LIKE THAT
JUST DID NOT HAPPEN IN OKLAHOMA.
AFTER RICHARD HAD RECOVERED ENOUGH FROM
HIS OUT PT SURGERY, I HAD TO DRIVE TO
SCHOOL AND JUST PICK UP RICHIE. HE WAS
IN 6TH GRADE AND I JUST WANTED HIM AROUND
US. HALF OF THE OTHER PARENTS HAD THE
SAME IDEA PLUS THEY WERE WATCHING IT IN
THE CLASSROOM. I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO
BE THE ONE TO DISCUSS THINGS WITH MY
CHILDREN AND LISTEN TO THEIR FEEDBACK.
IN 2008 MY DH, ME, AND AMY VISITED THE
ALFRED P. MURRAH MUSEUM.
IF YOU ARE EVER IN THE AREA IT IS A
MUST SEE.
THE SADDEST ROOM HELD GLASS DISPLAY CASES
WITH A PICTURE OF EACH OF THE 168 PEOPLE
THAT LOST THEIR LIFE. THEIR FAMILIES WERE
ALLOWED TO BRING LITTLE MEMENTOS THAT
BEST DESCRIBED THEIR LIVES. ONE WAS A
SCHOOL TEACHER AND THERE WAS A LITTLE
ARTIFICIAL APPLE, CHALK, A LITTLE BLACK
BOARD.
ON THE SECOND FLOOR THEY HAD THE
BOOTS THE RESCUE DOGS WORE.
I AM JUST GOING TO SHOW SOME PICTURES
WE TOOK OUTSIDE.
THESE ARE OUR PERSONAL PICTURES.
PLEASE DO NOT USE WITHOUT PERMISSION.
THIS IS A WALL THAT SURROUNDS A SLATE AREA. ON THE SLATE, IN THIS
AREA ONLY, YOU CAN DRAW PICTURES IN CHALK. YOU CAN DRAW YOUR
FEELINGS. THE WALLS THAT SURROUND ARE COVERED IN TILES THAT SCHOOL
CHILDREN DREW, PAINTED AND THEN IT WAS BAKED AND SENT TO INSTALL ON
THE WALLS.
THIS SHOWS THE AREA WHERE YOU CAN DRAW.
THERE IS ALWAYS A BUCKET OF CHALK. I ASK THE
LADY ON THE INSIDE IF THEY COULD USE/NEED PEOPLE
TO BRING CHALK. SHE SAID CHALK IS ALWAYS
APPRECIATED.
THIS IS THE SURVIVAL TREE
THIS REMAINS ON THE BACK OF THE BUILDING
THIS IS AMY AND ME SETTING ACROSS FROM THE REFLECTION POOL.
WE ARE FACING THE MEMORIAL CHAIRS..168..ACROSS FROM THE REFLECTION
POOL. IT REALLY IS VERY SACRED. AT EACH END OF THE REFLECTION
POOL THERE IS A CLOCK TOWER
THIS IS STANDING BEHIND THE MEMORIAL CHAIRS FACING
THE REFLECTION POOL AND THE BACK OF THE MUSEUM.
EACH MEMORIAL CHAIR LIGHTS UP AT NIGHT.
THANK YOU FOR JOINING GRACIE ANN AND ME AS WE REMEMBER
THOSE 168 PRECIOUS SOULS THAT LOST THEIR LIVES.
WE THANK ALL THE RESCUE TEAMS WHO CAME TO HELP
INCLUDING NEW YORK, WHO WAS LATER TO COME FACE TO FACE
WITH THE WORST TERRORIST ATTACK EVER ON AMERICAN SOIL.
SIMPLY DEBBIE
