Written by Sue, Monday, September 30, 2024 partly sunny, warm, humid, temps. 86+ today
Hello dear Friends,
First things first, our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who were/are affected by this terrible storm, Helene, especially in the mountains and western part of North Carolina, my home state. I have seen photos of total devastation!
This region is known for it's tourism, lots of apples, I love N.C. apples, pumpkins, Christmas trees, (that's where mine comes from each year) fall tomatoes and produce!
When I started this post this morning I was going to write about me, and what I have been doing lately, but I will forgo that until another day, my heart is so heavy for the people who lost so much, especially the loss of life, and loved ones, which is so precious!
The western part of N.C. rarely are hit by hurricanes/tropical storms! Coastal /central residents are usually better prepared and know what to expect when hurricanes and tropical storms come, but I don't think we would have been prepared for a storm like this one if we had had a direct hit, it was so widespread and powerful!
It affected our area with lots of rain and strong winds, nothing in comparison to our neighbors in the western part!
Please continue to pray and help any way possible.
2Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God
Love,
Sue

Joining you in prayer, my friend.
So much devastation and my heart aches for not only those who have loss so much property wise, but for those who have loss family members. I love NC and it saddens me terribly to see the videos of what has happened. Prayers for all. Thank you for posting this today...NC needs Prayers as well as other parts of the Country.
We are praying for everyone!
Thank you for the beautiful Scripture. I am praying.
I think we are all in shock over the magnitude of the devastation of Helene, both here in Florida and in the mountains. It's unbelievable that one storm could do so much damage. Glad to know you are safe where you are. We are praying for all who are suffering and in need of so much right now. Only God can direct all of the help that is needed. Take care and it is always good to hear from you.
I am so very sorry. I was just watching N.C. on the news. But I want to hear about YOU, how you have been affected. Prayers for sure.
Praying! We spent a week in the mountains of NC in July. Such a beautiful area! We fell in love with it and are so saddened by the news of all that this powerful storm has done there.
Sue, YES, I am praying with you! It is hard to imagine the devastation!
Yes! We will pray. We can't imagine the devastation and for the many cut off from communications and safe roads. This type of hit is something it would have been very hard to be prepared for. We have family in North Carolina who were not impacted but are rallying with support ideas!
Hi Sue~ I will be praying for all of those affected by this horrible disaster. My heart just breaks for all of them. The scripture references were perfect. Hugs, Barb
Praying with you Sue.
