The Magic Mirror is the secondary antagonist of the 1812 fairy tale Snow White and its many Disney adaptations.
It is the means by which the Evil Queen ensures that she alone is the "fairest in the land" - asking it daily the question of "who is the fairest of them all?", in fact, it is only when the Magic Mirror tells the Evil Queen that Snow White surpasses her in fairness that she plans on having her killed.
Famed is thy beauty, Majesty. But hold, a lovely maid I see. Rags cannot hide her gentle grace. Alas, she is more fair than thee. Lips red as the rose. Hair black as ebony. Skin white as snow.
In the Disney version of the tale, the Magic Mirror is given a life of its own in the form of a sinister face called Spirit of the Magic Mirror, though, in reality, the Magic Mirror is more of an amoral force than a true servant of the Queen.
Acording to the Snow White Archive: 1938 UK Snow White Pressbook, the spirit contained in the Magic Mirror was the Queen's familiar demon. After the queen's death, according to Lego Disney Princess: The Castle Quest, it feared her tyranny and apologized to her stepdaughter about it, as well as the Huntsman.

~ Snow White's plan to get a bigger team.
The Magic Mirror appears in the crossover special, and its sequel, formerly serving as the assistant of an arrogant hunter named Gaston, who serves as the main antagonist of the special. When Gaston asks the mirror about how many castles he controls, he tells him that he controls many castles, showing images of them (including Snow White's castle), and that he could gain even more kingdoms, as long as nobody interferes. When King Triton proposes a challenge to defeat Gaston by bringing his bravest warriors, the Magic Mirror summons Snow White, Ariel, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Moana, for they are the only ones that could out best him and save the kingdoms. Before the challenges, the mirror is confronted by Snow White, who wants to smash him because of what happened during the events of the original film, fearfully apologizing to her, and she ends up forgiving him. After Gaston's defeat, the Magic Mirror reveals to the princesses that the castle is also made for them and theirs.
Her later, summons Belle, Aurora, and Belle, to help the princesses defeat Gaston again, alongside his team of villains; Jafar, Ursula, Sir Hiss, and Snow White's stepmother, before they recruit a bog monster, to take over the castle.

~ Last words of the Spirit of the Magic Mirror to Aqua before disappearing in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep.
The Magic Mirror also appears as a minor antagonist and a boss in the prequel to the Kingdom Hearts series Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. In the game, after Terra insults the Evil Queen, she (in the English version) strikes a magic potion on the Magic Mirror or (in the Japanese version) uses her rage and darkness, turning the Spirit of the Magic Mirror into an Unversed to kill Terra in retaliation, but he manages to defeat it. Later, it also fights Aqua when she visits the Dwarf Woodlands, but she manages to best it in combat as well.
The Magic Mirror appears in Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, also as a minor antagonist and boss. He reveals to Vor that she will never become a Keyblade Master, panicking and saying it’s not true, but the Magic Mirror says that nothing can be changed of her destiny.
Wish[]
The Magic Mirror's face makes a cameo appearance when King Magnifico gets sucked into his staff after his plot to hoard all of his people's wishes for himself failed. Since the film has tied-in all previous Disney films due to the several Easter Eggs that are found through it, it can be theorized that Magnifico is the former identity of the Magic Mirror, as he is left as part of a magic mirror shard at the end.
The Magic Mirror appears as the main protagonist of the live show attraction Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, located at Sunset Boulevard at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Here, the Magic Mirror laments over how he yearns for the days where the Queen would ask “Who’s the fairest one of all”, whereas nowadays the multitude of members that are apart of the Disney Villains ask who’s been treated as the most Unfairly of all. Which is why he summoned the audience to help him decide who’s most misunderstood of all. Though he would've done it himself, if he was able to judge, but he can only reflect! To make matters worse, when some villains manage to find a looking glass, they end up with a nasty surprise as the Evil Queen shatters their mirrors, for she’s enchanted the spirit to answer only to her!
The Magic Mirror will require the audience’s help to appease these fiends, so he’ll be able to find peace at last! After singing about his woes, three various villains soon find their way through the glass and persuade the audience into thinking they're the most misunderstood. These include Cruella De Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent. At the end of the show, things start to go awry when the Magic Mirror finds himself pestered by the voices of other Disney villains before the Evil Queen shows up to silence them all, stating the mirror belongs to her and her alone, before shattering all the mirrors yet again with a wicked laugh.
The Magic Mirror is in distraught, knowing that the shards can create mini portals, but quickly realizes that Cruella, Maleficent, and Captain Hook passed through the glass and quickly begs the audience to decide who's the most misunderstood villain of all. Depending on who the audience decides, the Magic Mirror will be revealed that said villain as the most misunderstood of all. However, his relief is short-lived when they state, "they never promised anything and that the villain always gets the last laugh". The show ends when all the other Disney Villains give out their last laugh before the Magic Mirror weakly says, "Oh No", realizing his hopes for peace were futile already.

Ravenna returns
After Queen Ravenna was killed by Snow White in the first film, her dark vital essence became one with the Magic Mirror and her spirit took the entity's place in it to evade passing on into the afterlife. Seven years later, Snow White orders the Mirror to be taken to Sanctuary because of its dark magic. However, the Mirror was eventually recovered by Ravenna's sister Freya, who used it to resurrect her by saying who is the "fairest of them all". After discovering Ravenna enchanted Andrew in the past to kill his own newborn daughter, Queen Freya turns on her sister and uses her cryokinetic powers to freeze the Mirror, while the Huntsman shatters it and destroys both Ravenna and the Mirror.

Magic Mirror Realm portal destroyed.

Queen Clementianna consults with the Magic Mirror, who is a younger reflection of the Queen, would always advise Clementianna not to use dark magic for her own gain. After the Queen aged into an old crone, she took a slice of the poisoned apple she was to give to Snow White from her. Happily Ever After[]
The Magic Mirror (voiced by the late Dom DeLuise) appears as a kind and goofy mirror in the 1993 animated fantasy film Happily Ever After. This version speaks in rhymes and serves the Queen's brother; Lord Marliss after her death.
Shrek[]
In Shrek media, the Magic Mirror is voiced by Chris Miller. It used to be a servent of The Queen, and Lord Farquaad, until he attended Shrek's and Princess Fiona's wedding, as well as a karaoke dance party.
Personality[]
Not much is known about the Mirror except that his sole purpose is to serve whoever may own him at the time. Whilst he is generally diabolical, manipulative, uncompromising, and antagonistic on various occasions, he is unintentionally sinister, as he is forced to obey The Evil Queen due to being her slave. He does not hesitate to tell the truth to the Queen when it is revealed that Snow White was still alive. The Magic Mirror is simply a morally neutral entity; his pure purpose in existence is to objectively provide the truth to any question asked at any given time, by any given person.
Quotes[]

Snow White: Well, well, well... we meet again. Magic Mirror: Oh! (chuckles) Hey, Snow White. I'm so sorry about the evil queen, the Huntsman, etcetera. Snow White: Tsk, tsk, tsk. Water under the bridge. Let's crush them! (laughs)
