Wild Uncharted Waters

"Wild Uncharted Waters" is a song in the 2023 live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. It is sung by Prince Eric, who was portrayed by Jonah Hauer-King in the film. According to Alan Menken, the song was created for this moment of waves and all the wildness of what's out there in the ocean, what Ariel represents to Eric.^[1]

Trivia[]

Like "Evermore" from the remake of Beauty and the Beast, this song was created for a Disney Prince.
- That fact makes this song the second one to be created for a Disney prince, the third being "Princess Problems" from Snow White (2025).
The song is similar to "Her Voice" from the musical adaption of the animated film.
Ariel quotes the song at the end of the film. One of the maids asks Eric and Ariel where they are heading off to first, and Ariel responds with "to uncharted waters".
