"Ursula's Magic Camp" is the first segment of the second episode of Ariel. It premiered on June 27, 2024 alongside "Fernie's Notebook".
Plot[]
The first day of Magic Camp is today. Ariel, Flounder, and Fernie will spend the whole day there at Ursula's apothecary. Lucia is more excited than them about it, as she knows a lot about magic. She states that she wants to be a great magician like Ursula in the future. Once they're at the camp, they arrive at their own magic stations with their own magic stuff. Ursula then arrives, and tells them how great magic can be. She states that a Shark level magician can master in order to zim, zam, bazoo. So, Ursula will teach the class small and simple magic tricks, although still amazing.
Ursula then shows a Guppy badge, which is the first badge one earns as a mergician. As they learn more magic, they level up until they reach the Shark level. Ursula is at that level, and hopes the class will be one day. That is Lucia's dream. Today, the class will start with three small magic tricks. The first trick is to catch a fish inside a magic bubble. Ursula shows how it's done. Ariel, Flounder, and Fernie do the task, but Lucia decides to make a really big bubble. Since she used more ingredients than needed, the entire class gets trapped in a big bubble. Ursula reminds her to practice small and simple.
The second trick is to make clam shells disappear. Ursula shows the spell to make them disappear, and Ariel, Flounder, and Fernie do the same. However, Lucia decides to use two wands, and as a result, Fernie gets turned invisible. Ursula makes him reappear, except for his tail, which gets reappeared, as well. Lucia doubts getting a Guppy badge, but there is one more trick.
It is to make small whirlpools using only a finger and a little bit of magic. Ursula shows how it's done, and she gives the whirlpools to the class. Just like the other tricks, Ariel, Flounder, and Fernie get it done, but Lucia decides to do something even more spin-tastical. She then makes a really big whirlpool, despite Ariel reminding her about only small magic, and it sucks everyone inside. Lucia apologizes for not listening to Ursula, as she wanted to show how good she was at magic. She should have kept it small and simple because learning magic takes a lot of practice.
When Ursula was learning, she was just like Lucia, as she wanted to show everyone how good she was at magic, so she tried big magic tricks before she was ready. With the whirlpool still spinning the others, Lucia has an idea on how to stop it. First, she does the bubble spell the simple way, putting everyone in the bubble and freeing them from the whirlpool. With the first day of camp completed, the entire class earns their Guppy badges. Lucia didn't get one, as she made a big mess of things today when she didn't keep things small and simple. Ursula then gives her a Guppy badge, as Lucia learned her lesson and helped save the day. Ursula tells Lucia that if she keeps things small and simple, she will be a great mergician one day. The class applauds Lucia for it. Flounder then goes for a spin in the whirlpool created by Ursula, and states that he loves magic camp.
