"Grotto of Manners" is the second segment of the twenty-seventh episode of Ariel. It premiered on August 19, 2025 alongside "Fernie's New Discovery".
Plot[]
Ariel and her friends are playing are playing duck, duck, goosefish while Ursula, Ebb, and Flo are napping. Ariel and her friends crash in and Ursula gets their attention. She tells them about a new game for them to play especially for them, which will be interesting, magical, adventurous, and run. Ariel and her friends accept, and Ursula teleports them to a grotto filled with fun challenges sure to teach them something important. If they make it through all of them, they will get a fun surprise at the end.
As Ursula teleports away, Ariel and her friends wonder what they should do to enter the grotto. Ariel spots a shell and when she touches it, a voice tells them to say a word to open the grotto. Lucia's attempts to do so fail, and Ariel tells the grotto to please let them in, which it does, as please means good manners.
Once inside the grotto, Ariel and her friends are tasked to find a way to the next room. Flounder attempts to say please again but nothing happens. Ariel knows they must do something different, and Flounder decides for them to have a snack. Flounder talks while eating, which is not good manners, and apologizes for that. As a result, Ariel and her friends are sent to the next room.
They spot a passageway and follow it to see where it leads. The grotto tasks them to a final challenge. Ariel and her friends head through a door, but eventually, they end up at the same location as they're going through the same door. Flounder provides an example of it. Ariel knows that all of the challenges have been about manners and wonders why today is so special. Lucia, Fernie, and Flounder recap what they did earlier and how they weren't good manners. Ariel realizes that Ursula made the game so that they remember their manners. Ariel and her friends know that the first thing they did today was swimming into the apothecary without knocking. Ariel knocks the door, and she and her friends exit the grotto and are sent down a current and back to Ursula. Ariel thanks Ursula for making the game and she and her friends promise to use better manners from now on. Ursula decides for them to have a snack while she shows a picture of Ariel and her friends riding down a current. Flounder finishes his food before talking, as it's good manners.
