    INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AT ADADIVARAM

    INTRODUCTION:

    • An international school is a school that promotes school education, in an international


    environment, either by adopting international baccalaureate, IGCSE curriculum or by
    following a national curriculum different from that of school’s country residence.

    • International school provide an opportunity to develop cross cultural understanding an


    international outlook and an ability to build quality relationships with people from
    diverse nationalities.

    Why international school?

    • Exploring and understanding multiple cultures.


    • Infrastructure to participate in more extracurricular activities
    • Wider stream of career opportunities
    • Easier entry into international colleges
    AREA OF INTEREST

    • My area of interest is toward the INSTITUTIONAL BUILDING, because I believe that an


    ideal educational institute must allow live a river, the freedom to its tributaries to
    undertake their own journey but all bound to same goal united by common values.

    • And ideal institution is also where the learning is not just confined to the boundaries
    of the classroom but extends to lifestyle

    • The proposed site is in Adadivaram village, near Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh

    • SITE AREA: 22 ACRES

    AIM

    • The Aim is to design a proposed international school with focus on early child care,
    exploring alternative methods of teaching and allowing smooth transition of teching
    methods from lower to higher classes
    SCOPE:

    • Understanding the working of international school.

    • The design must encourage all round development with provision for art, outdoor classes,
    sport facilities.

    The primary source of study will be the case studies and the case studies that I have chosen for
    my study are:

    TOPIC OF DISSERTATION: SOLAR PASSIVE ARCHITECTURE

    • The key to designing a passive solar building is to best take advantage of the
    local climate performing an accurate site analysis.
    • Elements to be considered include window placement and size, and glazing type, thermal
    insulation, thermal mass, and shading.
    • Passive solar design techniques can be applied most easily to new buildings, but existing buildings
    can be adapted or "retrofitted".

    HOW I WILL LINK SOLAR PASSIVE ARCHITECTURE WHILE DESIGNING NID:

    • USE OF SOLAR PASSIVE TECHNIQUES NOT ONLY IN FACADE BUT ALSO INCOOPERATE IT IN THE
    PLANNING AND DESIGNING PROCESS.

    • SOLAR PASSIVE TECHNIQES HELPS IN IMPROVING AIR CIRCULATION AND AIR QUALITY

    • IT HELPS IN REDUCING CARBON FOOTPRINT AND ALSO LEADS TO SUSTAINABILITY
