Design Brief For School
School education is the foundation for any person’s career and future. A good school can carve out
the complete personality of the student and make society grow further. It is not only the good
education but also the school infrastructure that makes the learning environment more conducive,
where the students spend most of the time of their formative years. A good campus design with all
infrastructure can indulge the student not only in studies but extracurricular activities making them
all-rounder for future endeavors.
The objective of this architecture design project is to create a modern and innovative educational
facility that provides an ideal learning environment for students, fosters creativity, and encourages
interaction. The school will cater to students from primary(Nursery) to secondary(till XII) and will
offer a diverse range of educational programs and extracurricular activities. The design should
promote sustainability, accessibility, and inclusivity while incorporating the latest technological
advancements to enhance the learning experience.
Taking this into consideration you are supposed to design a secondary school in Jaipur at a given site
with a given set of requirements. You can detail the program requirements further as per the live case
study and literature case studies around the world. One of the recent examples for the literature case
study can be “The Rajkumari Ratnavati Girl’s School / Diana Kellogg Architects” and “The
Rajasthan School / Sanjay Puri Architects”
The prime focus of designing this school this semester would be to use passive means of cooling in
hot and dry climate.
All the climatic and contextual considerations should be taken into account while design formulation.
Architecture of the school should be inspired by the traditional design principles for passive cooling
and NOT COPYING THE TRADITIONAL ARCHITECTURE VOCUBLARY Of Jaipur.
