B. Motivation
Activity 1: Use Me in a Sentence
The teacher will provide a bottle containing different words.
The students will pass the bottle to the other student until the
teacher will say “STOP”. The students who will point out the bottle
will pick a paper and use the word in a sentence until the bottle will
left empty.
C. Analysis
The teacher will ask the following questions:
1. What do you think is the connection of the words to
our topic?
2. How important it is to use words according to its
functions?
D. Abstraction
SUBORDINATING CONJUNCTIONS
– are used to introduce a subordinate clause, making it
independent on the main clause.
– a subordinate conjunctions also called a dependent
clause, cannot stand alone in a sentence because it is an
incomplete thought and must have that independent clause by its
side to function properly.

1. She’s crying because you were unkind.
2. They remodeled the library while school was out.
3. She mailed the letter as soon as she could.
4. Before the tornado hit, grandma called to warn us.
5. The flower bloomed even though it was winter.
6. He spoke as if he knew the topic well.
7. Wherever Mary went, the lamb followed.
8. Until spring arrives, we have to be prepared for more snow.
9. If you need help, you only need to talk.
10. I will not release her payment unless she completes her work.
E. Application
The teacher will let the students to create their own sentences
using the subordinating conjunctions. The students will present their
work in front of the class.
IV. Evaluation
In a ½ sheet of paper, recognize the subordinating conjunctions in each of
the following sentences:
1. I don’t care who you are, where you from or what you did as long
as you love me.
2. Even if the sky is falling down, you’ll be my only one.
3. I look at the world, and I notice its turning while my guitar gently
weeps.
4. I’ll keep on dreaming until my dreams come true.
5. When I see you smile, I can face the world.
6. If you are not too long, I will wait here for you all my life.
7. I am not going to work because I am sick.
8. Although she is petite, she has a lot of strength.
9. I won’t be back in Mumbai unless early next week.
10. Whenever his wife was out of working, he would take care of
the house.
