SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 5
:
I. Objectives:
Define what is the present simple tense of verbs
Identify the simple present tense of verb used in the sentence
Use the simple present tense of verbs in writing sentences
II. Subject Matter:
Topic: Simple Present Tense of Verbs
Reference; Textbook- Joy in Learning English 5
Materials: pictures, flashcards, chart, worksheet, video presentation

III. Procedure:
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Opening Prayer (AVP)
2. Checking of Attendance
3. Review
Have a review about the previous lesson “Noun” through a game
“BALLOON JUGGLING CHALLENGE”
The pupils should name five words (5( in the given category. Touch the balloon and
make it fly with every word. One word, one touch. If the player touch the balloon
and say nothing, or the balloon falls down on the floor, the player loses the game.
“I know five words for the category________”
B. Developmental Activities
1. Motivation
Scavenger Hunt
Group Activity
The teacher will group the class in four groups.
The Teacher will show jumbled letters to the class.
They have to look for the correct word that is formed from the jumbled
letter that was shown by the teacher. The first group to find the correct
word gets a point.

2. Presentation and Discussion
The teacher will present and discuss the lesson about the concepts of Simple Present
Tense of Verbs through a videoclip presentation.
Remind the pupils to listen attentively and take note of the important concepts/
details about the lesson being discussed.
The teacher will give emphasis on the rules to be followed when using the simple
present tense of verbs when writing sentences.
Show some pictures to the class. Let the pupils read the sentence about pictures being
shown. Let the pupils identify the simple present tense of verb used in each sentence.
(GAD concepts Integration- Gender Equality)
Doctors help patients with their health problems.
Mother cooks delicious breakfast for us.
Father washes the dirty dishes.
3. Application
Let the pupils do the PICTURE PUZZLE Activity.
Each pupil will be given a piece of puzzle. They have to look for their pair in order
to complete the picture puzzle. Once they found their pair, they have to write a
sentence related to the picture they have formed. Remind them to use simple
present tense of verb in their sentence/sentences. Each pair will present their
output in front of the class.

Verb has tenses.
Tense means time.
The Simple Present Tense of Verbs refers to an action that is habitually and regularly
done. It is formed by using the base form or by adding -s or -es to end of the verb.
IV. Evaluation:
Write the correct form of verb in each sentence.
