sun?

Time is up. Let’s call on group 1…

D.ANALYSIS
All of you did a wonderful job!

Give yourselves a hand,

hephep?!

Class, I have here a magical hat. I will pick

and after that you will describe the object.
A basketball
What do you see?
small.
What word do we use to describe the ball?
A basketball is small.
Would you please read the sentence?
.
But what happens when you want to compare
the big book to something else? we will use the comparative

Class, when you compare the big book to

another thing, you have to use comparative
degree. This means that the word has
change. The ping pong ball is smaller than the
basketball.
Read the sentence.

Now, what should we do if we want to

compare our big book with over three or
many things? we will use the superlative

We would then use the adjective in

superlative degree and that means our word The holen is the smallest among them
has to change again. all.

Would you like to read the sentence?

E. Abstraction/Discussion

When an adjective is used to describe a thing,

person or place, it is in the positive degree.

Example: The coffee is hot.

The cat is small.

When an adjective is used to compare two

things, persons or places, the adjectives is in
the comparative degree.

We form the comparative by adding –er to the

basic form of the adjective plus than.

Would you like to read the examples? The fire is hotter than the coffee.
The rat is smaller than the cat.
If the word ends with “Y”, change y to “i” and
add “er”.

Example: Pretty = Prettier

Busy = Busier
When an adjective is used to compare one
thing, person or place over three or many
things, the adjective is in superlative form.
We form this by adding –est to the base form
of the adjective plus the word among, of all or
of them all.

Example: The horse is the quickest among of

them.
Now Look at these pictures:

delicious

more delicious

most delicious

What do you observe about the adjectives

used?

Very Good!
“The word more and most were added to
Another Example: the adjective.”

colorful more colorful

most colorful

With most two-syllable adjectives, you form

the comparative with more/less and the
superlative with most/least.

However, some adjectives have irregular

comparative and superlative forms.
